Bally Mystic, 7 Digit (Desktop Version). Made in VP912. First release, August 2012.
Table is 16:10 aspect ratio by default, for...
4:3 set x-scale to 1.1
16:9 set x-scale to .825

Overwrite or add included NVRAM (file updated as of v1.2) for this ROM, mysticb.nv, so that the recommended game settings load up for you. NVRAM folder is located in PinMame folder.
Requires ROM version mysticb.zip.

Been wanting to properly re-do this table again for a while since when I did it the 1st time, a flyer scan was my only resource. Last year I finally came across this table in real life & was able to take pictures. epthegeek helped a bunch by taking one of the pictures & redrawing it for me. I then added some lighting effects.

Then a big thanks to Wotto for getting me scans of his plastics.
In the making of this table I most definitely took bits of ideas, code & textures from various other tables/authors. Thanks to all those guys for helping directly or indirectly (UW, JPsalas, UR/Noah). Also used Eala's objects table for some things. Used JimmyFingers flipper code to soften backhanders & allow some flipper taps.

Used Inkochnito dip switch menu, which I actually modified a bit. Also if I'm not mistaken, the 7 digit rom that this table uses also were created by Inkochnito.
I created a rule set you can pull up by pressing "R", based on JP's rules menu's.

Don't think there is much else you need to know. Look over the rules & try to hit 7 digits. To make things a little easier, I did default the game mode to "extra ball". So basically in this mode you'll get an extra ball or 50k for 1 of the specials instead of replays.

Novelty mode that I added to the dip could be good to try as it awards points for EB's & specials, & maybe try replay mode too if EB mode is too easy for you. I've also defaulted to 3 ball, but if you want to try 5 ball, there are a couple dip settings you should uncheck (the 2 items that say (3 ball) after them), to get recommended 5 ball defaults.

I found a minor issue. Ball appears to get stuck consistently in the upper left area. Looks like a slow roll along the wall catches it.

FS version should be coming in a couple days. I wanted to let this out for a couple days first, catch & fix any bugs if there is any, then I'll get the FS together.

EXCELLENT, dude! SuPREMEly superb!!! tup.gif YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!

The artwork from epthegeek is fabulous! And the lighting is exquisite, including the light objects and the scoring lights! The table has the feel, IMO, of the arcade game more than the feel of a VP table.

The physics are WICKED! Gameplay is FAST! biggrin.gif Several drains right between the flippers at mach speeds! Gonna have to play it awhile to get used to that. But I LIKE it that way. It's like JPs Flash and Mata Hari with that hyperdriven hyperball!

Just one detail ... the Left Tilt key tilted the game IMMEDIATELY! No warning, just TILT the moment I first hit that key. Can't bump this table at all, hafta play it real CLEAN! laugh.gif

Thanks for another classic VP creation, and for letting it cook a little longer until it was done JUST right! Looking forward to the FS ... hope it's a B2S!

left & right & central nudge > TILT directly
btw, the table plays as in my memory, hard to "clack", with that captive ball & the large outlanes...

nice release, lets wait the FS smile.gif

Word of warning, you can't nudge on this game as it tilts on the 1st nudge. This game is quite challenging and I like it. Thanks Rob

Very nice table Rob! I like it very much!

The ball, in VP9, sits like glue at the supports of both the spinners and gates. So those supports should never be able to be in contact with the ball.
There are several solutions (like in everything in VP smile.gif ), one could be to make the supports invisible and use normal walls to make them, another could be to make the spinners longer so the supports aren't in the path of the ball.

I thought people would think the gameplay is too slow. I actually don't want a "hyperdriven hyperball" on this table. I'm only using a 4.5 slope, & some of the weakest flipper settings you will find in all of VP. I just played the table in real life a few days ago. I wanted to get this across because while the table isn't super fast, it still has a good pace to it especially with many of the game's shots being so far down on the PF (which can make things feel like they are happening maybe faster than they are). So I'm curious as to how or why the table comes across this way (super fast) to you.
Anybody else get this impression? If so, please let me know. My brain is likely a little burned out on this table, & so some other perspectives could be helpful.

I do know that the outlanes are & should be fast though. They are almost as tough on my real EBD too, similar setup. When you have open outlanes like that with only a steady metal wire separating lanes... that ball will often rocket to the drain.

I thought the game played a little quick. I have had a few balls rocket down between the flippers. When the ball rockets to the outlines its usually because of the ball going to the slingshots but is that not how pinball is supposed to be?

Edit: After playing a few more games I am starting to notice how much just the ball hitting the very top of the slingshots seems to send it to the outline no matter what, just wondering if i am the only one experiencing this problem?

Right. All I can even do there is weaken slingshots even more, but I think they are tweaked about right. Placement of slings, posts, flippers, etc. on this table are extremely close to the real thing. Or I should say about as close as I could get without having a PF scan with post holes to go by.

Not sure what you mean about the top of the slingshots, but I might be making a couple small adjustments that could help a little. I'll take a look at that area.

@ everybody. I just noticed that NONE of the right defaults seem to load up if you just delete the NVRAM. I thought they would. Sorry. But just add the included NVRAM. Even on that it looks like Game Mode might not have anything checked for some reason. I recommend Extra Ball mode if the game is seeming tough. Replay mode for more of a challenge, & Novelty mode for quicker games but possibly higher scores if you make the most of your balls. & on this next update, the nvram will have extra ball mode enabled by default.

OK I'll be fixing the TILT. Apparently, my custom VBS gives a different sensitivity than the regular core.vbs? I need to look at that.

Thanks I will fix this now. Though, strange, I must of shot the ball up that lane 100 times & never had it get stuck. This is what I mean about waiting a couple days for the FS release. There seems to always be a bug like this that will pop up on first release of a table!
