There was one time that I saw online, someone selling a full set of cabinet decals for a virtual pin setup that looked a lot like Big Bang Bar, but had characters from different pins. Elvira, Funhouse, etc., but it was in the same scheme as BBB.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have a link to that? I cannot find it anywhere.

Thanx!

Johnny

I'm fairly certain those were a one-off, custom job, and not for sale.

Was a design someone was offering for sale over on hyperpin after I did the big bang bar pin and Chris did his big bang pin. Asking price was around $500. The other issues is that it uses copyrighted characters. You can dig around over there to find the thread

I found it after some digging. Thanx guys! VERY nice artwork! Those would be the decals I would want, but it's too bad it's a one off.

He "sells" it so that's why he'd be pissed off. Very funny. It's good art and obviously prints well so it's highly desirable, but it's funny the way it's been handled. It would be like charging for our VP tables, it's all using IP that just isn't ours to sell...and then we get upset when someone gives the table away for free (like it should be in the first place) but thankfully we mostly have the good sense not to do that....

ummmm anyways that's all I'll say on it - besides that It should have been a 1 off for personal use.

i can sharing  something if I have it for free but I think Christ paid an illustrator for his decal, and he wants to be the only one to have the decal of BBP.I can understand him. the illustrator who has worked for the decal christ is shadbase  the topic is here (http://www.shadbase....lleryw/?pid=230) but shadbase deleted the  text and the decal. and here  ( http://www.newground...ng/big-bang-pin )

and then the decal of bbp in upscaling is too ugly a blur not good at all .

I will found a good illustrator for make me a decal which looks a bit to the BBP .

yea it's fine if you get a one off made, but he clearly sold the art to other people for their cabs

Yeah I used it in one build think it was only 200 extra for the art work so not bad. On my Mopar madness cab(personal machine) I bet I have 500-750 in that design paying the artist. So 200 bucks is fair I think

I'm a huge believer in helping the community and providing lots of things for free.  However, I can also see how it is fair enough if someone wants to pay someone for their time to do a specific art piece for their own use.  I have provided over 60 completely free, fully editable artwork sets for people to use on their cabs.  You can download them, modify them however you like and print them off for your own use.

I also have been paid for some pieces which people have contacted me directly to create for their cabs.  In these cases the person is after a very specific look and wants something different to what is available.  It takes me hours to create these, modify them to the users specific cab dimensions and send them printable PDF files.  Sometimes I go through over 5 or more revisions until the person is happy.  I only charge a small amount to cover a portion of my time.  This money has gone towards my membership here and will also be used to keep my onedrive storage going - which is where all my free art is posted for download.  It  also keeps my motivation up to provide more Free art.

I am actually creating a custom art set right now which uses the Big Bang Bar styling and colours, but is completely different.  I have now worked out a way to get that style by using line art drawings and recolouring them in photoshop.  This enables me to create it without needing to hand draw any of the art from scratch.

Indeed! I'm all about that. I think we're taking issue (at least I am) with the guy commissioning it, and then selling it to other people...because that's not his art to sell. When I pay you to do art, I'm paying you for your time. When someone pays him for art he's already commissioned, they're paying for the art, which includes IP that is not his to sell in the first place.
