Hey guys im new to this forum and have some questions!

First of all i wann let u know how i installed all the stuff, maybe i did some mistakes.

1. Downloaded
- VP 9.1.2 FULL INSTALL
- VPinMAME 2.4
- VBscripts
- Fonts

2. Installed everything

I tried to run several tables, but till now i just handled to run the pinball "Twilight Zone". When i try to run tables like "Terminator 2", "The Adams Family" or "Medievil Madness" (all downloaded from the VP9 - VPM Recreations section) i always get the error that the cpu roms couldnt be found. But i do have the right Rom files zipped in my "roms" directory.

Example:

- I open the table "Terminator2_UR_NF_VP9_1.1RC"
- i do have the Rom file "t2_l8" in my rom directory (zipped)
- but i do get the error message that the rom can not be found
- when i load the table anyways, everything looks fine, the table shows off, i can insert coins and stuff ... but the "score screen" (dont know if this is the right name for it) does not appear.

Maybe u guys help me out!

yup, you did some mistakes - you unzipped rom files

you never unzip rom files - just put them in roms folder - check installation guide again - you will find this there - maybe even in bold

Did you run the VPinMAME setup.exe file and made the correct input where to find your roms?

yes i did, when i run the setup.exe the path is

C:\Programme\VisualP\VPinMame\roms

and thats the directory i got the roms in

Since you are able to run Twilight Zone means that your installation is correct. Make sure you have the correct rom on the other ones. There are several roms for each table you listed. My advise is to download the one which has the most downloads (you will see the number of downloads each rom has to the right of where the rom is listed).

Probably needless to ask, but did you download the correct roms ?
What rom does it ask for when you run the table ?

And that's the path where put your roms? And you leave them unzipped?

Do you have all of the table roms? There are several sets and 1 set can be main set
and the others are only split sets. Try to get all of the available table roms of one special
table, mabye T2, and try again.

yes i did that, i even downloaded all available roms for MedievilMadness to test.

When the error appears it does show that the specific rom is missing (see my example), but i do have it in my folder!!!

You need to close VP9 in between each testing of a new rom set.

Vista or Win7? Run everything as administrator.

You can unzip the roms into a folder of the same name. No one believes me but it's the way I've been doing it untill I found out different, but it worked for me like this anyway.

I still didn't test that, but I believe you!

ye i tried several times, close programm, start programm!

Another example:

Table: WILLIAMS - MEDIEVAL MADNESS - MEGAPIN - V1.3 - VP9
Roms: mm_109, mm_109a, mm_109c, mm_10, mm_05, mm_10u (all available roms)

VPinMame still cant find the rom "mm109c"

Windows Xp

i did that already:

All Windows versions (recommended): right-click the VPinball.exe inside the VP folder, choose "Preferences", from there go to "Compatibility", check "Compatibility mode" and choose "Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)" from the drop-down menu. Confirm and exit.

i believe you, from mame and vpinmame point of view zip file is same as folder.
only thing yu can't do is unzip files to roms folder, if you create subfolder with zip name - that's ok



moe - just to be sure - you are UNZIPPING tables to the tables folder?
tables have to be UNZIPPED - you can't launch them from zip file just by double clicking - you have to EXTRACT them to tables folder

You still get the error message? Or is it already gone, but you just don't see the DMD?
Check if you can get it to the top using Alt + Tab.

As far as I read and you answered it should work now.

Please check again your paths when you run VPinMAME setup.exe.
Use the dialog to navigate to your roms path. I think it looks as if
it's not set correctly. But I can be wrong there.

It's the ... box roght of the path entry when you run setup.exe
and chose setup paths.

Please put this file in your roms folder and try again.

I still think your roms path is wrong.

From the screenshots it's different from your real roms path.

Check again!
