File Name: Attack from Mars VP914 FS
File Submitter: jpsalas
File Submitted: 08 Dec 2010
File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)
Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1995
Permission to MOD?: No

Based on the Bally table Attack from Mars from 1995

This is the FS version with higher resolution graphics, a superb ufo animation (cough, cough style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ) and some incredible settings (cough, cough, it's cold in Oslo style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ).

Well, if you don't know this table, then maybe you have been under the same rock as me style_emoticons/default/smile.gif I discovered this table 5 years ago, and I love it. It became soon my favorite table (together with MM). It is an easy table, it hasn't complicated rules, and it is always fun to shoot martians style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

The desktop table has also been updated, and if you need 1024x1024 graphics then you can get them from the desktop (4:3) table.

Enjoy!
JP

Update 2.2
- Fixed ball hitting side rubbers
- Added some extra rubber and metal sounds.

Update 2.3
- Updated for VP91x, with alpha ramps and some setting changes

Update 2.3.1
-reduced contact friction to 0,0025 (from 0,0035)
-changed ramps elasticity to 0,3
-changed hole script to prevent missing balls
-Added Gi light under the ramps

JP, have you tried a different method of lighting the decals on the actual table itself with this release?, they look different from the usual method you use, they look the best yet infact!

smile.gif I just drank a big cup of tea with lemon smile.gif

@lettuce: if you mean the light inserts, then yes, I have used new images, and I tried to make them look more like if there is a light turning on and off right under them. It is not easy to get the right effect. I think I still can do it better. I just did those graphics in three days, so I didn't spend too much time on each light. I enjoy now working with photoshop because I feel I know the program and it is quite easy for me to make such a light. Before I could spend hours to get the right light, now it takes just minutes.

I like this table, but I've got no sound or music... or does it not have any sound or music? I have the stanrd VP sound effects but nothing else, even with the volume turned all the way up on the DMD in-game.
