Is anyone else having a problem with solid black being transparent on the pool stick and the platform it rotates on? I'm seeing little dots of crap showing through where some black areas are supposed to be. Or is that an ATI bug?

Didn't you just get a new PC Bob? Makes me nervous about getting a new one. I don't want to spend $1000+ and it not play everything.

You can build a solid gaming rig for considerably less that $1000. Just don't buy an off-the-shelf computer.

You should try checking the reorder box - it's to the right of HDRender.

Mine is not black, but I noticed that I can see the ball through the platform that the pool cue sits on. Nividia 250GTS

They seem to already have Flipbook animation checked for all of them.

Edit: Oops, I was wrong. They are not checked! They are hard to get at though.. I will work on this. Thanks.

pl11 does, pl12 does, pl13 doesn't.
So look again. smile.gif...making me redownload the table and yeah, the ones I list aren't.

edit - The easiest way to make this adjustment is to go to collection manager, create a new collection, and move them all into the list to the right. Then you can click the arrow down for the selection cursor and click on collection 1, and check one box which will apply that to all of them.

I always have reorder checked. I just turned it OFF, though, and still no difference. Stupid black transparency.

Here's what I'm talking about:

That's the table with 16-bit color. When I change it to 32-bit, MOST of the problem goes away, but a few pixels are still showing through to the yellow of the platform below. You can actually see this in the screenshot in the original psot as well. I notice that the original textures use black (0, 0, 0) as the transparent color, and that a lot of the image itself uses (7, 7, 7) as its darkest shade. When going from 32-bit to 16-bit, I think VP is turning that (7, 7, 7) into pure black, resulting in most of the problem. Hmm. Editing the images in question to have RGB Green (0, 255, 0) as the transparent color would probably nip the problem in the bud...

I was sure I had that flipbook checked on all the walls. Now I understand why I got some strange see through problems which made me make new walls for the pool stick a little higher. I guess I used too much cut/paste, or too many CTRL Z.smile.gif

I don't know what can be, but you can try setting the "Flipbook Animation" on the walls as destruk wrote a few posts above.
I know VP has displaying problems when you use dropwalls on top of dropwalls.
