Am getting this WPC PIC chip error on two of the FS Theatre of Magic tables. Any solution?

Sounds like your ROM file isn't okay. Try this one from vpforums.org.

I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd respond with the steps to resolve this issue just in case someone else stumbles on this like I did.  Press F1 to bring up the ROM options menu, and then select "Skip ROM startup tests".

Thanks in2tronix.

That worked, but for me it was line 217. Had to then get past housecleaning message, but it works now.

Had just run into this issue last night.

I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd respond with the steps to resolve this issue just in case someone else stumbles on this like I did.  Press F1 to bring up the ROM options menu, and then select "Skip ROM startup tests".

My VPX 10.7 doesn't have a skip rom startup test option when pressing F1 and I've tried both the TOM_14H and the TOM_13 roms and I still keep getting an Incorrect U22 error.

What did you change in line 217 and what did you change it to?

EDIT: I figured it out. If you're a beginner like me, I opened the script and searched for TOM_14h and I changed the cGameName line in the script to TOM_13, I compiled the script, launched the table, I pressed F1 selected skip startup test, quit to editor and saved the table and the table works great now.

Awesome tip!

It worked!

Just to be sure, the skipping test is only on this table, or for all roms from now on?

Cheers,

Roger

Cheers,

Roger

If you pressed F1 while the table is running, the skipping test option only effects that table, as it only brings up the tables specific rom options.

If you run Setup.exe inside your VPinMAME folder, and click Set up defaults, you will get the same rom menu, but these changes will effect all tables.
