Blackwater FS VP9 Cabinet
Blackwater 100 (Bally 1988) [VP9.x DX9 FS cabinet release]
This is my second table, and I hope you'll have fun with it.
The table is fast, but for me it seems realistic ... I never owned a pinball machine, so I tried to imitate the behavior by looking at Y***ube videos.
Because I had some stress when releasing "Flash Gordon", I'm careful now: All images used in this table are not stolen, I kindly asked to use them and got permission. Some of them were painted "from the scratch". I had to modify some images with - let's say - fantasy textures. So the table is not an exact copy of the original. Most of the coding was done by me. I used some "standardized" routines, that you can find nearly in all newer tables, like nudging, B2B, AR plunger, etc. These routines came from other authors and the author is named at start of the routine and also in the credits. I'm not willing to do paypal donations for any resource that is used in this table. On the other hand, any resource that is used in this table can be used (modified or unmodified) for whatever, no permission required. I'm not responsible for any damage that can be brought into a correlation with playing this table. If you think "the table s*cks", feel free to delete it from your hard drive. In this case don't send me PMs or e-mails. Authoring tables is only a hobby, and I don't hide the fact that I'm still learning, that's all.
Credits go to:
Noah Fentz: Thanks for the very good pictures
Patatrox: Thanks for the pictures and your help
UncleWilly: Thanks for the primitives template (I used the drop targets and the posts)
JPSalas: Thanks for the light routines and some images (don't remember which images - maybe bulbs?)
Noah, Koadic, destruk: Thanks for standardized routines (e.g. nudging, plunger or b2b)
Arngrim: Thanks for creating the DOF routines and the DOF definitions
All the rest of the community: Thanks for keeping this hobby alive
and ...
Shadowsclassic, dboyrecords, Naboodiver, Arngrim, Fuzzel: Thanks for all the testing, you did an amazing job!!!
The table is only a compromise. I had to "cheat" sometimes to get acceptable graphics or playable results. I'm sure that some things could be done better, but I'm still learning and I wanted to bring this table to an end.
Now check your lower flipper buttons and let's start... As I already mentioned: the table is fast. When using the original ROM (3 balls), the best strategy is to bring one of the balls directly into the upper saucer. The ball will stay there for a while, so you have to pay attention only on the two left balls. If you bring one of them into the lower right saucer, you can concentrate on one ball. You have to place exact shots for shooting the balls up the lower ramps (Highway93 and HillClimb). So don't give up, it's not impossible, HillClimb is the easier one. The configuration dialog can be activated by pressing "F6".
