fp dmd future pinball dmd dmd monitor fp fp dmd cabinet
Future DMD will create a virtual dmd that can be positioned in a 3 monitor cabinet similarly to the one used in Visual Pinball for Future Pinball!. Your dmd is no longer limited to your backbox or playfield. If you have a 3 monitor cabinet you can now put your dmd where it belongs! You can choose to leave the DMD running between games or launch from your favorite front end. An example has been included for Hyperpin and Pinballx front ends. Instructions are included in the FutureDMD Setup pdf file.

Hi Terry,
Color is a definite possibility and I have thought about doing it for a while. I unfortunately have been so busy with work projects I haven't made and changes to FutureDMD for a long time. I will give it a look when I can but no promises, I haven't had spare time for months. I had a version where I was using round dots but they weren't looking very good at such a small scale. To make them truly round took too many pixels making each dot way to big so I never included the option.
Thanks for the response.
Wouldn't dots look better rendered at higher resolutions? My FutureDMD is set to 1280x320 for size. Wouldn't that allow for the dots to look decent?
I do find that in PinMAME, using Direct3D gives you dots that look "OK", but they are rendered at a low-resolution and then upscaled, which is not good for a hi-res monitor.
Also, maybe having an option the change dot "size", so it could allow for custom spacing for each person.
Just some ideas..... I understand that life is busy sometimes.
I need some help with futureDMD. I have a 3 monitor cabinet, windows 7.
I have setup future pinball with BAM. I then installed futureDMD in the directory with the future pinball.
I started futureDMD, but nothing seemed to happen. The task manager said it was running, but I could see no trace of it on any of the screens. I then started future pinball. It started and seemed to run normally, but I still couldn't seen any difference.
Am I not running it correctly? The instructions said on first running I would need to place the display where it needs to be, but no display comes up. Since nobody else has this problem, it must be something I'm doing. Any ideas.

Maybe this will work for you as I had same issue when I first started using this. It was running but I couldn't see it because I changed my windows background to black! I simply changed the desktop background to red then I was able to see Futuredmd. Move it to the correct screen and changed the desktop color back to black.
Hi,
i have a little problem.
I've configured future dmd and pinball x correctly and i see the DMD on my 3rd screen. But when i launch the table from pinball X the DMD
doesn't appear, if i click ALT+TAB 2 times it appear correctly.
Seems that it running on background.
Please help me, thank you in advance.
Thank you for this wonderful addon. I had a problem with some tables not showing the dmd images (though Futuredmd still runs like normal!) like mentioned in previous comments.
The problem which causes this is multiple DispDMD objects on the translite in a table - Addams family gold is a prime example - FutureDMD won't display the DMD images/score if that's the case. To solve this, remove the 2nd DispDMD2 object from the translite in the editor, and remove any lines with DispDMD2 in the script (if they are there). Save the table and restart FPloader. If you do this correctly you will get no meditation error and FutureDMD will work beautifully!
(The author might want to add this to the bugs/instructions part).

Just tried the PinballX plugin, I dont want to show the tablename just the highscore and played times.
But when I remove some displaylines in the ini, it puts them back the next time.
Any way I can choose what I want to display when using the PinballX plugin?
i must be missing summit how can you Move the DMD to the 3rd screen when future pinball only supports 2 screens?
I have futureDmd set up on my 3rd screen what is the proces.s to get the DMD to show on that screen please

So gauntletlover....
...any chance of possibly adding full colour DMD support to FutureDMD like macro has recently been doing for real DMD's? I mean, full colour textures and fonts on the DMD, not the filtered colour that FP does to pics sent to the DMD.

This would look so much better for the many tables that have full colour images used for the dmd!
Also, any chance of having an option for "round" dots instead of square ones?
Love this program!
