fp dmd future pinball dmd dmd monitor fp fp dmd cabinet

Screenshots
Future DMD will create a virtual dmd that can be positioned in a 3 monitor cabinet similarly to the one used in Visual Pinball for Future Pinball!. Your dmd is no longer limited to your backbox or playfield. If you have a 3 monitor cabinet you can now put your dmd where it belongs! You can choose to leave the DMD running between games or launch from your favorite front end. An example has been included for Hyperpin and Pinballx front ends. Instructions are included in the FutureDMD Setup pdf file.

*NEW* Added a Plugin for PinballX to display game information on FutureDMD while navigating your game lists:

It will show things like:
  • Highlighted game's name
  • Last time played
  • Who holds the High Score
  • How many times the game has been played
  • 2nd and 3rd place scores
  • Average time a game might last
As well as customizable messages can be created for every single table making each one unique!

Hi sorhp, this is a new one. I'm not sure what the cause could be. Fdmd shouldn't need focus to start receiving data. Did you change operating systems? Which are you using?

anymore info, I am having the same issue as some others where the DMD is moving about 20% when actually loading the table.

Umpa, do you have more info on what you changed?

Thanks

Yes. I went into future pinball video preferences and changed backbox resolution to match my TV resolution. Good luck!

Hallo iam a Newbee in Future Pinball and i got this error after i start the DMD Exe...

ERROR READING INI FILE, PLEASE ENSURE FUTURE DMD HAS READ/WRITE ACCSESS TO THE INI

Can anybody help me please what is wrong what i make wrong???

My OS is Windows 7 64-Bit

Hi,

The first time you run it, it will create the ini file. You may need to run futuredmd.exe as an administrator or give it file creation rights so it can make the ini file.

Gauntletlover, has the issue with running FutureDMD with tables (mostly SLAMT1LT's tables with lots of videos) that have more than 1200 textures, compressed textures, etc. been solved yet? I'm talking about how on these tables the DMD text looks fine on FutureDMD but the background animations look distorted.   This happens on tables like Star Trek (Stern), T2 Skynet Edition, Nightmare on Elm Street (Ultimate), etc...    The DMD on the backglass looks fine, just on FutureDMD its messed up.

Great work, but this bug / limitation stops me from being able to use FutureDMD with my favorite tables. Is this something that can EVER be fixed or is it a limitation with Future Pinball?

Thanks.

For anyone who may find this helpful. I have found out what to do to get FutureDMD to work properly with tables like SLAMT1LT's Ultimate tables (with lots of videos).

Problem: The animated backgrounds / images / textures on the DMD in FutureDMD would be corrupt while the text was fine. DMD on the backglass would look fine.

Solution: I had to goto the texture manager for each table and make sure EVERY texture that is used for the DMD has "Allow runtime (ST3C) texture compression" enabled AND "disable texture filtering (image used on DMD)" enabled as well. Changing these options in video / rendering won't make a difference... you have to do it for each texture use on the DMD.   It's not needed for the Overlay textures, unless of course they are also being used in the DMD.... depends on the table.

It can take a while, but after doing this, FutureDMD looks amazing in a cab with a DMD on a 3rd screen that can be sized anyway you want with any colour,etc... Now I will be able to use the rest of my 3rd screen for playing the video clips on these Ultimate tables (using an extended resolution for my backglass the spills halfway onto the top half my 3rd dmd screen)....cool.

I've tried it on T2 Skynet Ultimate 1.06 and Nightmare on Elm Street Ultimate so far.

Everyone IGNORE my post above!!!

I've tried so many countless combinations to get this to work with SLAM's tables without the corruption.

....but I forgot to obey the most important FP rule....  if you change any video settings, close your table and future pinball and FutureDMD.... then run everything as per normal, and all is well.

So yes...  all I had to do was disable "Use Texture Compression (S3TC)", and make sure texture filtering was bilinear or lower... and close and re-open everything.

Could have been a lot of work.... but I learned a lot more about FP in the process, and now I can use SLAMT1LT's videos on the rest of my 3rd screen as a result as well as have the FutureDMD's DMD on the same screen. Looks cool, but will be much nicer when my cab is one day done.

Not from my upload there isn't, you should check your scanner settings, Unless it has been tampered with on this server (which is unlikely) you are getting a false positive.
