BLADE RUNNER 2049 v1.3 - a Graphic and Audio MOD of JPSalas Pokemon table.
Note: There is a strange glitch in the table when Balls are upgraded. Sometimes there seems to be no issue and other times the table will announce the next ball upgrade in the succession (Balls 1-4) and the ball you are given is one previous from what it should be. I looked into if this was my mistake on the DMD art side and everything I created matches up on the Pokemon table so I'm not sure- might be a code issue. It doesn't affect much else except for showing you the wrong color ball than what is announced.

Special Thanks to JP for making the original and all the people who contribute to this forum.
I new next to nothing about Visual Pinball and PinMame until I started frequenting this forum.

I wasn't much of a Pokemon fan, and I felt the chances of seeing a Blade Runner pinball table were very slim.
(I'm only aware of the Ultimate Pro Pinball version for Future Pinball and it has yet to see release as of this writing)

Since i'm a huge fan of both films it was difficult to decide which film to base the table on. I ultimately went with BR2049 because I felt there was much more content to pull from and in many ways the sequel surpassed the original by having a much deeper story.

There are still a few areas of this I would've liked to polish further. My knowledge of 3D modeling isn't very robust and the models in the game suffer a bit because of it. The gameplay probably doesn't hold up as well as JPs original with the concept being "Gotta Catch them All" capture the Pokemon and have them evolve. I attempted to make what you are capturing is "evidence" in your hunt for the truth.

All the code remains as JP's Pokemon scripting. If you run across any issues or errors (so far I haven't found any) I suggest you look to the Pokemon Pinball forum as your answers might lie there.

All of the design for this was for my own single screen machine. I don't have an external backglass or DMD screen (which is why JPs table was suited for me on this build) I did not create a DMD that is rotated in FS mode so you might see some wonky things (or get errors) if you play in that setup.

I'm not a programmer so I'm hoping this table works for others as it works for me. Unfortunately I cannot provide much if any support if things don't work. :(

Anyway, I hope it brings some fun to those that appreciate the films as much as I do.

What's New in Version 1.3 (See full changelog)

  • v1.3 Visual Upgrade with a new 3d model of the spinner (and the drone that detached from the roof) some adjustments to the spinner police lights
  • v1.2.2 Some further lighting refinements to the whole table. Redesign of the Apron which includes a fun new addition to K's Blaster :)
  • Adjusted some scripting slightly.
  • *******************************
  • v1.2.1 Further tweaks to the side panel art to better match with the rest of the table and reduce stretching of the images. Some color changes to the metal screws around table to fit with the plastics art. Some further tweaking to sound. Found one other Pokemon reference in the scripting where it referred to "CATCH" which I changed to "HUNT"
  • *******************************
  • v1.2 Adjustments to table lighting. Art changes to the 4 ball styles. Audio changes to music and FX to make it a little better balanced. Added side panels with city scenes. Back wall art has been modified. I changed some of the Script where "Hatching" and "Pokemon" were referenced.
  • Updated all art to the DMD to improve image quality. Small adjustments to the flashers.
  • *********************************************
  • v1.1 Fixed an issue with the ball not making it thru the right ramp. Ball size corrected in Code.
  • Initial build based off of Pokemon Pinball v2.1.0
  • Contains new art and sound and 3D assets.

I absolutely love the theme! I noticed that no matter how hard I hit the ball up the right ramp it never makes it all the way up though. It's almost like it's hitting a wall.

Hmm Interesting. I did change the ball size in code. You might try going into the script and sizing back to what it was: I think it was '50'

(correction size was '50' which is stated as the "normal size")

That seems to fix it.

Fixed the Ball to be standard "normal" size and updated to v1.1

Also made a series of Backglass files. I don't have a 2nd monitor/ Backglass setup so I'm not sure these will work for people, but you're welcome to them. https://www.dropbox....kglass.zip?dl=0

DMD looks really bad in flexdmd, instead original JP Salas table is crystal clear. Just rename Jp's Original flexdmd script as same as this table to see the flexdmd in the third screen.

Are you planning to be helped making it better??

Here is an animated Backglass and media pack I made:

Nice Table Thanks for creating it. Same as Pman the only thing I would like to change is the DMD display on the table. Is there a way to put it on the Real DMDs?

Very nice table and plays lovely. Many Thanks.

I’m not sure what flexDMD is. I’m sorry I can’t help there.
