Screenshots
This fun table is from 32assassin and Coindropper.
I've continued the evolution of this table with a full
makeover and some gameplay enhancements.
4.0 is for 10.8/3.6 with a totally new miniDMD in the TV to replace the
no-longer-working previous design that relied upon an exploit to light-up.
Enjoy :)

What's New in Version 4.0 (See full changelog)

  • 1.0 New playfield, lights, lighting, layout, physics, graphics, materials, shadows
  • 2.0 Ditto plus sound and it's a lot livelier
  • 2.1 Bart animated
  • 3.0 Upper left flipper fixed, lights, physics, sound
  • 3.1 Playfield, lights, bumpers, physics, added another ball shadow
  • 3.2 Fixed left flipper sound/DOF, brighter TV
  • 4.0 New miniDMD for TV and better flashers

They're not lights at all, but an array of tiny gates, and the brightness is limited by design unfortunately. Even to get them working this well is fighting the VP software that needs to be tricked into accepting the settings, and just viewing the settings resets them.  Not my design, but I found that I can adjust them this far, at least :)

you have to learn how to remove objects tied to the day night slider. Like the ball for instance. That's a very necessary skill you should be focused on learning.

Sounds handy and always willing to learn. What's the procedure for that?

i didn't say i would be learning it for you and teaching you. You're the one that's investing mountains of time altering other peoples work. It's something YOU need to learn. That's my suggestion for you and it's a good one. In this particular instance it's something that would have solved this issue. So it's pretty obvious that it's another skill you need to learn.

Also, since I'm here, I'll also suggest that since you invest so much time doing this you might want to move In the direction of VLM and Blender or any other suitable 3D program. Looks to me like you have no intentions of slowing down this process and people are steadily leaving you behind in the cosmetics dept. Complete noobs are investing a month or two into it and producing tables that completely blow your efforts out of the water. That's unfortunate because you have talent and copious amounts of time to contribute. If you're fine with doing things the way you're doing them now and sticking to that, cool. But none the less the look you achieve with this process will look more and more dated as time passes and people move onward and upwards.

gracias

I'm quite happily enjoying my hobby in the manner of my choosing and using my tools of choice. You need Visual Pinball to light a table and VLM is only useful for misleading screenshots at this point. As for the other suggestion, that's not even a thing. I'm not interested in competing with anyone and most everyone builds their tables on other peoples' work, so I see no distinction there. I light my tables the way I prefer and very deliberately, because I can make them any way I choose and I competently understand the many methods and I have experience with all. I find the lighting boring and unrealistic with no reflections and dead balls on many of the tables that could look truly realistic with the right lighting. Anyway, each of us has our tastes and I can only do my own style in the end and some will like it and some won't but at least I'm providing folks with another choice :)

Again thank you for sharing all the recent updates it is very appreciated! :)

Wow someone give GordonJames a chill pill.

He goes by the same name over at VPU and freaks out when something isn't working.

He is always complaining and arguing with others trying to help him.

The irony that he is telling someone else to do some research and how to mod tables is really rich!

Learn some respect and be grateful people are modding and spending their precious time doing it FOR YOU.

Bigus1 doesn't need any advice from you.

I don't know what you play on nor care but his tables usually kill the competition on my 43" 3-screen SSF cabinet build.

The slingshots and bumpers sound so much better and the ball doesn't micro-stutter and they actually work like the real thing (Metallica and Batman for example off the top of my head).

He fixed the snake and tombstone hammer on Metallica and its the ONLY working VPX table out there.

He is a modder and guess what modders do? Mod others work!

Maybe that will clear things up for you...
