Standalone DLL and Setup.exe, changelog, and other updated docs

Installation:
Simply copy all of the files in the ZIP into your already existing Visual PinMAME directory. Overwrite already existing files there when asked.

Run Setup.exe and press the 'Install' button. Also you may want to press the 'Setup Defaults' button to tweak the new options, like sound mode for example.

What's New in Version 2.7 (See full changelog)

  • Earthshaker LA-4C (competition MOD)
  • Hook 4.01p (4.01 with Prototype Sound)

  • Theatre of Magic 1.5C (competition MOD)
  • Tales of the Arabian Nights 1.5C (competition MOD)
  • World Cup Soccer LX-3C (competition MOD)
  • ***Visual PinMAME***
  • - New option for the DMD window: DMD opacity
  • - New option for the sound processing: Sound Mode, where:
  • 0 = standard builtin PinMAME emulation
  • 1 = builtin alternate sound file support
  • (store the alternate sound files in a PinSound-like directory structure (incl. textfiles for ducking and gain),
  • within a new PinMAME directory subfolder 'altsound' and there within the machines shortname subfolder,
  • e.g. for ij_l7: 'C:\PinMAME\altsound\ij_l7\'
  • or for an example alternate sound file for tz_94h: 'C:\PinMAME\altsound\tz_94h\jingle\000064-load_gumball_pt_1\load_gum__LEGACY.ogg')
  • 2 = external pinsound, 3 = external pinsound + psrec sound recording
  • (must have PinSound Studio 0.7 or newer running at the same time:
  • make sure that the windows permissions match between PinSound Studio and Visual PinMAME/Pinball, e.g.
  • if one is using admin permissions when running, then both need to be started with that (or the other way round))
  • (needs VPINMAME_ALTSOUND (also requires bass.lib/.dll) and/or VPINMAME_PINSOUND defined when compiling)
  • - New methods for the Controller object:
  • HRESULT NVRAM(/*[out, retval]*/ VARIANT *pVal); - Get the full NVRAM of the emulation (e.g. high scores, settings, etc. as a binary blob of 8bit values)
  • HRESULT ChangedNVRAM(/*[out, retval]*/ VARIANT *pVal); - Get only the NVRAM parts that have changed since last call (similar to ChangedLamps), first dimension has the location, second the new value (only 8 bits are valid), third the previous value (only 8 bits are valid)
  • (See for example https://github.com/tomlogic/pinmame-nvram-maps for some machines NVRAM mappings)
  • - Add 'Restore window position' to menu
  • - PinDMD 3 handling
  • (see pindmd.h to change defines when compiling, also requires pindmd.lib/.dll)

Hi Toxie!

I am interested in this part:

New S14001A sound core for old Sterns (Catacomb, Flight 2000, Freefall, Lightning, Orbitor 1, and Split Second)

This means that from now, the old Stern 80s tables will have the same sounds as the real machines?

I own a real SEAWITCH and a real QUICKSILVER, and the sounds are different in real life than in VP versions.

Thanks a lot for your work! thanks everyone involved for such a work!!!

Thanks everyone involved, very appreciated.

Thanks to everyone involved and for all the time spent

is there anyway to get the colordmd roms to run. or smart dmd or whatever style display with vpm or is the only option to pick 3 colors for different shades which I believe isn't effective if using the integrated vpm in desktop mode or on newer *** games  (<----cant say that word here so heres a hint  + + + 's club as in mal wart.) which will only display the color corresponding to the brightest shade of the 4 being 0% - 33 - 66- 99 or whatever it is.   I wish their was a way (and if there is and im not aware some one clue me in!) to get at least the fake 4 color action going on with the desktop mode integVPM display because I never play in cabinet modes anymore, if im playing vp its in desktop mode with a vr headset using the now native SBS 3d option in vpx (thanks again guys)  and I can honestly say I haven't played a pm5 or vp9 table in almost 2 months now.  I have been flipping thru a ton of real machines and went to expo in Tacoma last weekend and have had almost zero time for vp its crazy,   so tonite I made a point to get my ass on the pc and check out anything ive been missing the last couple weeks so heres hoping for colordmd vpm!

Does someone has any issue with a virusscanner and the VPinMame?

PinMame32.exe and PinMame64.dll were targeted by MS Security Essentials
