High Speed 1.0.1 FS VP9

Version: 1.0.1
Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Kruge99

Description:
Fullscreen VPinMAME/VP9 table for Cabinets
This is High Speed by Williams, 1986
"Run the light--and get away-at High Speed."

Version 1.0.1 release notes:
-fixed (hopefully) the ball from getting stuck on the left hideout exit ramp
-fixed the flipper logos to prevent them from moving in a non-game state
-fixed the kickback to stop it from firing when kickback should be disabled
-fixed the plunger anim code to comment out a line that became un-commented at some point
-added the 1024 sized image for people who received the offscreen surface error
-added two more ball colour changes to the lower playfield - watch for them!

Concept by: Steve Ritchie
Design by: Steve Ritchie
Art by: Mark Sprenger, Python Anghelo
Music by: Steve Ritchie, Bill Parod
Sound by: Larry DeMar, Eugene Jarvis, Bill Parod
Software by: Larry DeMar

VPinMAME/VP9 Notes:
This table is inspired by and dedictated to: (in no particular order)
Destruk
TAB
Unclewilly
Noah
JPSalas
PacDude

Special Thanks goes out to Sabbat Moon and TheKeef for beta testing. (How are those flipper settings coming TheKeef?)

Keen eyed players will notice a missing plastic. Once I find a reasonably good image, I'll trace it and add it in a future update.

Final Note: If I borrowed some code or technique from you and forgot to include you in the credits, please let me know and I'll update the table.

**Note: How to use the 1024 sized playfield:
1)When you open the High Speed table click on the Options button on the left of editor to make the options menu appear on the right side of the editor.

2)Look on the Options menu on the right side, and under Colors and formatting it should say Image: PF-GI-On
-->change the PF-GI-On image to PF-GI-On-1024 and save the table and exit VP9.

3)re-open VP9 and load up the High Speed table, it is now using a 1024 max sized image and should avoid the rendering problems

I have included the 'Toronto' highway signs for the spinners in a separate folder. Simply go into the image manager and use the "reimport from" button to replace the images, save the table under a new name and enjoy!

Here's a link to plastics and plunger cover images sized to 1024 to avoid graphic issues on lower end systems. Go into Table --> Image Manager, click on one of the plastics images and click on the "reimport from" button and select the image file with the same name.

Sorry todd for not finding this out earlier, but this just now happened to me.

I scored a jackpot during multiball and my ball never came back out of the left lock , you can see in the pic where it got stuck smile.gif

Does the ball move when you nudge? think.gif I've never had a ball get stuck around there... I wonder if something moved or had the "collide-able" setting enabled...

Best Regards,
Todd.

I had the same bug on my first ball. The ball never came back from the left ramp. Nudging won't move the ball either. I waited until the machine dropped the ball like most pinballs do when they can't locate the ball, but it didn't.

Except that the table has got a great feeling, and is looking amazing. Congrats !

By any chance, any recommended settings to change so that the table is a little harder ? I scored about 6000000 on the first ball till it got stuck...

Thanks again for the great work !

I still cannot duplicate this. Here's a suggestion:

Find "Ramp15", it's the invisible ramp, under the "wire" ramps, and modify the end control point where the ball drops into the hide-out.

old setting:
x: 67.375
y: 721.5

new setting:
x: 79
y: 716

This will move the end of the Ramp15 back a bit and may prevent the ball getting stuck.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Yeah, it's only happened to me that one time so it might be pretty rare and just a coincidence it happened to the other guy on his 1st ball. I'll try those settings though

Great looking table! Thanks! Though my cab running 9.08 gets a script error on line 464...its says PBottomY2 is undefined.
I dont get the error when i make the preview video on my desktop running 9.09.
I cant run 9.09 on my cab, i get insta-tilt with my pball wizard board.
Maybe i can comment out the whole plunger Sub?
Thanks for any advice...

Did nudging make the ball move a little bit or was it "stuck" like it was glued? I put a wall at the top of the wire ramp and plunged dozens of pinballs up there this afternoon and never got a ball stuck once. I'm wondering if it's flying off the table somehow/somewhere and the ball image you see is the "ghost" it left behind. A ghost ball won't move when you nudge. A stuck ball will move when you nudge. (At least that's what I've experienced)

I designed and built the whole table using VP908 only, and I don't have that error myself, besides, PBottomY2 is disabled (I commented those parts out - look at the script before playing a game) since I didn't use that third kicker in the plunger anim. Did you make any changes to the script? Accidentally un-comment any lines maybe?

Best Regards,
Todd.

p.s. Thanks for the video bitupset!! biggrin.gif

I sent you the basic settings I liked and you had your own ideas about a couple of them. I thought you were going to go with those you liked, so I didnt bother adjusting them after that. I have been too busy to do much pinball testing/playing.

Pulled the original download, its line 463, and it is NOT commented out. i added the UVP, thats why it dropped a line number.
I commented this out and all is well.
