SkyKings 1.2

Version: 1.2
Category: VP 9.x Recreations

Author(s): druadic

Description:
1973 Bally Skykings, updated for VP9 by druadic. This is a 4:3 screen, Version 1.2 and it has high score save, and the captive ball alleys have been fixed to score properly. For rules info, please read the attached rulesheets provided by me-mike.

The tilt mechanism was used from Bonanza, 1935 Exhibit Supply Company with a few tweaks. It counts up and down depending how fast you nudge the table.

The Bally apron was kindly provided by Grizz at VP Forums.
The backdrop edge image was used from CompuFox' Dolphin release.

The playfield and plastics redraw were by me. This took up most of the time along with redoing a ton of scripting to make Skykings run like a champ.

Playtester Note: When you start load the table, you’ll see something really sharp, that I’ve never seen before on any VP table. Check it out, and then when you’re ready to play, press 5 to insert a coin and you’ll get yet another nifty surprise.

Well It's not a new table or anything, I just never had this particular table before. I guess we can change the ball images ourselves. In reality why doesn't have a lot of things, new background much? Anyways that doesn't matter to me, I'm just glad to add another flippered EM to my collection.

I have Bally Champ, which was the same game, just different graphics I believe. Would you be interested in some pictures/scans to make the Champ version?

Wow! not only a flippered table from a flipperless author but one with two captured balls too! great job T! Is this your first flippered pin?

The new and improved VP9 version is now available with a link to the file in the first post above. Much more challenging and fun than the old version. This might be Will's best table, other than Bonanza. A first rate job all the way.

Just have fun. Enjoy!

Thanks for the support. Now onto Pro Pool and Mini Cycle.

You're welcome guys!

Sorry Sabbat I didn't implement high scoring into the game until the update. My apologies. It won't happen again in the future. That's a promise.

Just enjoy and have fun.

Thanks to the three folks who voted on the download page! The more votes I receive, the better I know the games are. It's much, much appreciated!

It's no problem draudic, no need to apologize or anything like that at all. You make it sound like I was mad smile.gif

Funny though that you thought it would be more important for us to know the date and time then our own highscore though wink.gif tongue.gif

Sabbat;

Reason I did that is because when I play pinball the time flies! I always like to have the time showing so I know if I'm playing too long wink.gif

Really enjoyed this table. The playfield is almost identical to Bally's "Champ" which I downloaded from IR Pinball. Everything seems to work as expected, the only thing that seems to be missing is the bonus countdown routine. Looks like the bonus is added all at once instead of the score being added gradually as the lights count down. Other that that, the table plays great. When I come home from a tiring day it work, sometimes a simple electromechanical table, is just as good as a modern day pin with a deep ruleset.

Sast;

Thanks for the compliment. Appreciated. I just wanted the game to play fast and go non stop. Doing it this way makes for a more enjoyable game I think. Glad you like it too! smile.gif

One thing i noticed that is different from this table compared to Champ is the mushroom bumpers don't score 500, i love being a pinball freak and notice things like that smile.gif
