Ten Strike Classic

Version: 1.2.0
Category: VP 9.x Recreations

Author(s): Rascal, Wizards_Hat

Description:
2003 Benchmark Games, Ten Strike Classic Electronic reissue/copy of Williams 1957 Ten Strike, 5 foot Mannequin Bowler.
Ten Strike Classic, Benchmark Games, 2003, two players. This is a reissue and copy of the 1957 Williams Ten Strike. This new 10 Strike uses identical cabinet and art as the original, but has solidstate guts and LED style score displays (instead of score reels). Has two bells (one and ten points) for sound. Scores like regulation bowling, or with a flip of a switch, scores like the original 1957 Williams Ten Strike. Made in Korea specifically for Benchmark, and available only in the five foot length (unlike the original 1957 Williams Ten Strike, which came in both five and seven foot lengths).

Thanks go out to the following people:
Wizards_Hat (Dan) for helping me by doing the scoring script.
Noah Fentz (Paul) for getting me video and pictures from Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum.
Marvin for his useful information about the machine on the web.
Benchmark Games for a copy of the manual.
richg (Rich) for putting me on to the challenge and getting me some pictures.
YouTube for video and sounds.

Beta Testers and Support are:
KEG, Pinball Buzz (Jon), Rawd (Rod), Sabbat (Freddie), gaminglord (Brad), yogiholzer (Jörg), NateD (Nate), and Bob5453 (Bob).

Version 1.2 Added music to bowl by.

Version 1.1 Fixed a graphic issue with the bowler man being cut in half.

YAY! I know how hard you worked on this, and it is nice to see you release it! Let's go bowling! smile.gif

Edit: The final version looks beautiful and plays great. You should be really proud of this. I love how VP can emulate non-pinball games when the author thinks outside the box. Great work.

Well, THIS was the last thing I ever expected to see here! This thing (quite a piece of junk in real life, to be honest) is set up by the pinball machines at Castles and Coasters! Weird. The VP version is considerably better. Nice job!

The manual shows that the machine uses a PLAYC8F mainboard. The ROMs are not listed in the download section at Benchmark Games, and a quick search on Google brought up nothing.

Let me know when you do and how many games it took you. I'll gage the difficulty factor by the Freddie play scale. drinks.gif

I like how in one of the pics it says "To play squeeze handle"

Then in another pic the playfield clearly says "caution do not squeeze handle"

A little vertical FS 16x9 adjustments and the bowler looks like this as I'm about to get a STRIKE! smile.gif

I Moved the scoring off to the side for a pretty screenshot.
