Hoo boy. This is the first time I've edited a support topic like that. Damn all of you posting before the file was uploaded! Damn you, chronological sorting! I really hope I didn't screw this up...

While I commend the efforts of the builder to recreate this table in FP, which is no easy task, anyone who has played the VP version will be disappointed. The DMD is the main thing, it's really just a video loop of the opening sequence of the rom. So it's not like playing the table with the real rom. I give Victorkpm a lot of credit, this is not an easy table to recreate, and he did a very nice job. Thank you Victor for all of your effort!

This is an incredible achievement. It is cool to see later tables being done in fp, this looks amazing. The copy I downloaded has a typo in the script, near the very end of the script (forgot line #) the word "points" is misspelled. I found this because the table threw an error during play. It was easy enough to correct and save, but I thought I'd let you know. Otherwise, genius work.

Why comparing? No DMD support, no comparison possible.

This table is really great, but a bit easy.
I got a bug when having a 6 balls multi-ball - when I intentionnally lose all of them, the game do not detectect correctly that all the balls where lost.

An incredible recreation, only complaint is about the low res graphics - if someone can help you on this part (I'm sure hi-res pictures are available somewhere...)
Congratulation, I'll be playing this one a lot. Now, what's next Adams Familly or Indiana Jones??? wink.gif

Why comparing? I have played the VP version. If there is no DMD support, why put a pseudo DMD loop on the table? Why go through the pain in putting something that looks like a DMD on the table, eating up RAM, for a video loop? It looks cool, but really only serves that purpose. Really nice DMDs can be created in FP. Slamt1lt's Star Wars table comes to mind. I am not trying to rub the table creator the wrong way, or anyone else. I have not learned the editor, and I am not that talented yet. Just stating for me, the lack of a working DMD was a bit of a let down. If you only play FP, then this is the only version of CV you have at the moment. But for me, the DMD animation is half the fun.

Sorry about the DMD !

If anyone wants to do this task, please let me know.
i have all rom videos recorded in avi format.

Instead of copying the videos, i think is easier to write future pinball support to vpinmame :-)

I like that you at least made the looping video, rather than leaving a blank space or no DMD. How many Rom videos are there? I would be willing to help out with a few of them. Maybe if we got 4 or 5 guys on it, it wouldn't be such a huge task. The table may end up with too many textures, and slow loading times like my Spy vs Spy table though.

Great effort indeed - well done for getting a release out in such a short time.
I did encounter quite a few problems - bugs with multiple balls, multiple voice samples at once (and maybe modes too?) balls getting stuck etc.
All the ramps probably don't help the crazy physics on FP either, but its not news that the physics on FP are not exactly the best anyway.
But a great first effort - i'd love to see this table more fully developed if you haven't already got tired of it smile.gif

videos that i remember
rigmaster intro
ringmaster defeat
ringmaster razz
ringmaster frenzie
ringmaster special
ringmaster battle
unmask voltaire
highwire ball lock 1
highwire ball lock 2
highwire multiball
highwire jackpot
strike-an-arc mb
strike an arc charge
strike an arc jackpot
juggler lock 1
juggler lock 2
juggler lock 3
juggler 1
juggler 2
juggler 3
juggler mb
juggler jackpot
extra ball
save ball
side show intro
sideshow roonie (video mode)
sideshow cannon ball run
sideshow hat trick
hat trick jackpot
sideshow neon multiball
neon multiball jackpot
acrobats 1
acrobats 2
acrobats 3
acrobats 4
menagerie hits
match
super spinner acrobats
volts 1 ,2, 3 & 4
baloon hit
baloon complete
baloon value grow
wow hits
replay
sideshow lit

i think the minimum frame-per-second is 5.
so there is a lot of textures.

you can see ringmaster intro and ringmaster defeat images at texture manager, they are not used.
these 2 sequences takes 102 images...

i tried to make the dmd part, but give up. that would take a lot of time, that i dont have.

the image of intro at back is not a dmd but a hologram , the images are taken from rom, soo there is a little problem:
i tried to put it on a dmd first, but there are lines that not exactly match with the dots on dmd, so if i use a dmd it looks like the dmd have a horizontal line burned,
because pixels on that line are not rendered because it dont match in exact point of pinmame´s dmd recorded image.

Man,

Future pinball will be stuck on 80's tables, unless Black make some interface with pinmame. (at least for recreations of existing tables)
There´s no reason to make every frame on DMD if you have it on ROMs.

Unfortunately , more and more i think FP will be discontinued.
it passed 6 months since their forum was gone.

Maybe Black got some girlfriend and give up !

Cheers

Well, your work wouldn't be lost if that happened. Could export the graphics and sounds, and the code would need modification to be transferred to another pinball editor - maybe SlamIt's would even look better (if that is possible?).

Build a fire, vipers love the heat.
