Hi, I have improved and cleaned the graphics of The Jetsons FP table created by Roney Pinball but I tried to contact Fabio there and Gmail gave me a delivery failure message (user unknown). The site has not been updated in a couple of years. Does anybody know if anybody there is still active and how to contact the person(s)? I want to post the cleaned graphics but I would rather have the creators permission, if not I could post the graphic files as a mod and credit the author.

I even already have the whole updated files (a zip files with a version 1.1 table ready to unzip and play with an updated texture library). I didn't change the design, I merely cleaned the graphics a lot and improved the antialiasing of many, many graphics and graphic elements cause it was bad in many places. I did a lot of touch up cause I have extensive experience in the field. I did a lot of changes particularly to the two most important graphics which are the Playfield and the plastic graphics but also on others. I also created a text file that explains better all the changes. I don't want the changes to be wasted what can I do? I would like the community to be able to use it.

Surely if you supply it as a kit for us to do ourselves there wouldn't be a problem at all.

BTW been looking at this table also. I'm just about to embark on making my own table from scratch. I was digging around to see how things are done.

So how do I do this, I mean what do I supply? a zip file with all the graphics so you update the library yourselves or and updated library or what? How do you want this?

I could supply it in any way, as a zip file with all the new graphics separated to be uploaded by the users, as an updated library or the whole table in version 1.1, which way are you guys uploading mods here?

It is our policy that all MODs require permission from the original author or authorized maintainer.

Without such permission, no MOD is permitted, but graphic packs containing only images that can be imported by the users themselves is allowed.

Understood. I will post a zip file with the updated graphics soon, I'm just improving them a wee bit more this morning cause I felt like it and I'll have them soon. smile.gif

I really wish I could contact this guy(s) cause it would be so much easier for FP users to just go there and download the improved version of the table.

Would pack containing GFX and SOUNDS files that change the theme of the table be OK?
For example a pack to change The Jetsons to Futurama.

As long as the table itself is not modded and uploaded, but just an image and sound pack is provided for the user to MOD the table themselves, all is well.

It's a good opportunity for those with no editor experience to get a taste!

Hehe, when I first saw this thread, I was thinking it was Black's Jetsons table that was getting worked on. biggrin.gif

The mod is done! Voila! Well this is the first time that I created a mod of any kind but I did it carefully and put a lot of effort into it and it looks very good on my PC! cool.gif Here is the link to my place in Deviantart where you can find my things including the mod:

http://pixeloz.deviantart.com/

You can also find many of my things including the mod here in Mediafire:

http://www.mediafire...8eada0a1ae8665a

You can see right away in the MediaFire folder the FuturePinballMods folder and when you click in there you will see the zip file quickly.

The zip file contains several graphics that were fixed (the most important and most visible) and it includes a PDF file that explains in detail both in English and in Spanish the changes realized to the graphics. If you export the old playfield texture for example (the one changed the most) from the original files through the texture manager and you compare it to the new image you will see many of the changes clearly specially when you put them side by side and zoom in a litlle.

I know that sometimes the edges of some Future Pinball graphics look kinda rough due to the rasterization in 3D, when the textures are better antialiased it helps to make them look smoother but if they are not that compounds the problem and makes the table look kinda dirty so now this one can look nicer.

I hope that you enjoy it! smile.gif

Uploaded a version 1.1 correction already, don't worry it is a very tiny correction over version 1.0 almost imperceptible, it was a couple of very small things that I left out and now I corrected them and now its done but if you already downloaded version 1.0 its fine. I have been testing it in my computer and its running fine so far, I have played with it quite a while and I have not seen any errors from it yet.

If you find any mayor or minor error let me know and give me a private message and I will try to correct it and post and update but so far it is running fine. smile.gif

Sorry but I just had to create and upload a 1.2 version cause I was playing the table a lot and when I did I realized that Roney Pinball made a mistake and inverted the labels of the Crédito (Credits) and Bola (Balls) counters and I corrected this now in the translite image by switching those two labels. Sorry not my error and I wish I had seen this earlier. sad.gif

OK, here are links for thumbnails of the pictures (pretty large thumbnails):

http://img694.images...adorthumbna.jpg
http://img718.images...icthumbnail.jpg
http://img31.imagesh...ieldthumbna.jpg
http://img39.imagesh...litethumbna.jpg

And I'm not putting here the drop target and the chrome pinball modified graphics.

And here are a few screenshots from my new PC at 1600 x 1200 in windowed mode:

http://img535.images...ttranslite1.jpg
http://img15.imagesh...tfromabove1.jpg
http://img24.imagesh...omthefront1.jpg

Now I will do something a wee bit better. Here you can see both of the playfield images (the old and the new) in full size so you can compare them better. Now from afar the differences are not so apparent but when you zoom in a little you will start to see many differences. Look at the edges of the characters and you will notice how clean and smooth they are now. Also notice how I smoothed and antialiased the edges of many, many things, the circles, the black areas, etc. Notice how I fixed the glass domes of the futuristic buildings. Notice the Jetsons logo now. Also notice how I took the main cartoon at the center and cleaned it of compression artifacts. And other changes. it took a lot of work to clean it up like that. The overall effect is that the table looks neater and cleaner.

Now remember that these are the full images and they are fairly large.

The original playfiled image (about 1 megabyte):

http://img375.images...yfieldimage.jpg

The new playfiled (about 1.90 megabytes cause I used less compression):

http://img697.images...fieldimage1.jpg

I did something similar to the other images of the pack but remember that it is not for all the graphics of the table, just for the most important ones.

There you go! smile.gif
