When I saw the Amazon Hunt UVP backglass I knew I had to tackle this for my pinball PC. Thankfully, Destruk had uploaded an updated version for Spanned tables already so it was a very easy conversion! Thanks Destruk, and thanks LuvThatApex!

Alright, I know I'm having a brain cramp and I'm forgetting something easily solved but equally important, but I'm only getting Visual Pinball sounds, I'm not getting any ROM sound from this table when I'm using the UVP backglass with the Fullscreen version. I'm also having "Search-Fu" issues and I can't find the post that explains why UVP Backglass sometimes "breaks" the ROM sounds. Can someone help this Karma-impaired person and give me a hand please? Thank you.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Im running the UVP and i get all the rom sounds - sometimes i forget to hit F1
Do this - Run the table plain without the uvp then hit F1 check samples and sound.
Quit the FS version and shut down VP
Then restart your UVP version .. badda bing

You forgot nico193! Sometimes you don't see things even if they are right in front of you! nico193 is a VP old timer & is listed as co-author of the original amazon hunt, from which this FS table was converted (I'm assuming)!

Hey, nico193, I see this is post #1 in these new forums. So welcome, its nice to have more old blood in the new forums.
Since you worked on the table, I wonder if you are familiar with the real amazon hunt? If so, I just made a new version of it, go ahead & check it out.
& I guess unclewilly might try the FS conversion of that.
I started work on the new version like 4 years ago, but even then it was so hard to find any good resources, & it was only at the time I started building that somebody came along with a manual for the game.
So I applaud what you guys did even years earlier with even less resources & no manual! The drops were screwy, but that stuff was fixed in my version & then I believe this FS version as well.

Hi All,

I didn't drop nico193 on purpose, I only credited the author's that I found in Destruk's original post. I didn't alter the script so if nico193 is credited in the original script, he's still credited in the FS conversion I posted. All I did was convert the viewing from Spanned mode to Fullscreen mode, all other aspects, script, credits etc are all intact from the previous authors. I hope this clears this up, if not, I can edit the download post I guess and add all the authors there if it's really important. I thought it was more important to leave the script itself intact where all the credits are listed? (I don't know I'm confused now.)

Best Regards,
Todd.

Because this FS conversion is from the Spanned version maintained by Destruk. (I uploaded it back in April of this year) It's not a conversion of Rob's new one. wink.gif UW has offered to convert it amongst his other projects.

Kruge, yeah you can leave the credits as they are in the code, but considering most people don't look in the code I'd say its way more important to get the co-authors & all that stuff correct in the table info, & especially in the uploads section here, cuz that is where most people are gonna see that info. That said, yeah you didn't do anything wrong.

I see that the credits are kinda mixed up. On the old 4:3 download, destruk forgot to list himself as a co-author. On the spanned table he left off himself & nico193, crediting only LuvThatApex. But in his defense, destruk was mass uploading at that time after AJ's went down.
He uploaded a ton of tables in a very short time, & of course didn't have AJ's to get the old info off of, & I'm sure he wasn't about to read the table info on every single table he was uploading here that was on AJ's. So I think its understandable if he did in fact make a mistake with the credits on some tables.

No big deal though, cuz if there is clearly a mistake with the credits, you or nico can just let him know, I'm sure he'll fix it, it only takes a second to fix that info on the entries. A lot of info was lost when AJ's went down, I'm sure. I noticed a lot of old tables don't have table info properly filled out or not updated. So AJ's, as far as credited authors go, actually had the most accurate & up to date info in that regard. Some old tables didn't have table info at all. So destruk I'm sure did the best he could. After all he's worked on hundreds of tables so its understandable he may not remember every co-author on every table he worked on.
We should just be glad he had all those table zips to upload after the AJ's crash. Another thing that sucks is that the original release date info on all the old tables are gone.
Yet I'm sure if there is an issue with credited authors or versions numbers or whatever, I'm sure destruk would not only fix it but actually want people to speak up if there are inaccuracies with table info. I can't speak for him, but I assume that would be the case.

Hi all,

Nice to hear you all, sorry to mess it all.

I did not work on VP since years, I now play them for real ! I organize tournaments here in France, with a pinball league created a few years ago.

I wanted to show a table I've made in the past (Amazon Hunt) to a friend and found this post, where my name was not mentionned. This was just a remark, nothing agressive. For the other tables (F14, Fathom, Black Pyramid), I've found my name (nico or nico193) when my work has been reused.

I'm a little nostalgic when I come to this forum ... I attended to the birth of VP when the first forum was hosted in MSN... The Fathom table I've made was one of the very first tables. Souvenir souvenir ! I'm very happy it's still in life Worship.gif (even if I'm a little confused with all the new VP versions).

For resources about Amazon Hunt, I'm afraid I don't have new ones ...

Keep up the good work drinks.gif
