recent system scan of registry files found 2 dialer-182 style files. I removed them, upon starting VP again I had to reinstall pinmame. Are these normal files that correspond with pinmame?

The only thing I know about that is that McAfee doesn't have the best track record when it comes to false positives.

I use Avira Anti-Vir free version 10. It's probably one of the best freeware anti-virus programs out there, and it does everyting that McAfee and Norton does without the false positives.

I have Karspersky 9 and it hasn't detected anything regarding VP files. Did you download VPMAME from a trusted source?

Get rid of that crap. Use Avira AntiVir or some other free ones that doesn't complain or bitching over something stupid.
