Not sure how to better describe this. It's almost as if a huge magnet was at the bottom of

the table. It's hard to get the ball more than halfway up the table, the plunger barely gets

the ball onto the playfield. I've gone into settings and adjusted GRAVITY, SLOPE, TABLE

FRICTION, etc... with no noticeable difference. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

This is a fresh install of Baller Installer. I wiped it, deleted all registry entries that were related,

and re-installed. Same outcome.

Searches for 'heavy ball' and such have led to anything, other than the physics settings I've

mentioned.

Thanks for any replies or suggestions.

1. What VPX table?

What version of VPX are you running? (include bit-ness or maybe just VPX-EXE filename).

What version of B2S-Server are you running?

2. Oh yeah?! Where is that?

And do you think those settings are Global or Per-Table?

1. What VPX table?

There are 3 tables installed. Leprechaun, GNR, and Fish Tales.

      All 3 play the same.

What version of VPX are you running? (include bit-ness or maybe just VPX-EXE filename).

Having run Baller Installer, it installed 10.8.0.  I'm not sure if it's 32 or 64 and not

sure where to find that info.

What version of B2S-Server are you running?

Not sure on that one either. Once Baller finished, I clicked the check for updates

button, and it stated all programs up to date.

2. Oh yeah?! Where is that?

Visual Pinball editor... every game quits to that editor... then

PREFERENCES > CONFIGURE (OPTIONAL) GLOBAL PHYSICS SETS

And do you think those settings are Global or Per-Table?

I have to presume that it is Global, with the choice to save different sets at the bottom.

Either way, I've made the changes after playing each table. No difference in play.

1. I have VPinWorkshop's latest GnR and Fish-Tales installed ... they play fine for me. I have HauntFreak's B2S files (Backglass) installed and in-use for both.

2. v10.8.0 is good. Both are recently installed on my 3-screen cabinet ... so I've only run them on VPX v10.8.0 64-Bit Direct-X (VPinballX64.exe).

3. Version should show when you right-click on backglass. While looking at the options, be sure both start-mode options are set to "as EXE" and Default mode "in EXE". If not in full EXE mode, it can drag you down.

4. Interesting. No, in several years, I have never changed those (wanted-to or needed-to) . I think those might be for programming a table's assets (like a table's construction with this Editor) but not really sure.

I did find this. If JP (a leading table developer) says "don't mess with them" that is good enough for me.

Maybe you should check your VPX video-options. Watch a video or find our recent posts ... I think we uploaded some a while back for v10.8.0 on recent-class Windows hardware. I'm running a Nvidia GTX-1070 @1440p on my cabinet.

Yeah, here it is ... see this post and this page in general:

You might need to recalibrate the controller/joystick.

When the cabinet was brought home, GnR played as expected, Fish Tales also, other than DMD.

Same with a few others, normal play, just without DMD. Using the same files, so no issue there.

I have now confirmed VPX 64bit.

          Right-clicking bg shows 2.1.3.327   64     version 1.27

That has always been the settings for EXE

4. Interesting. No, in several years, I have never changed those (wanted-to or needed-to) . I think those might be for programming a table's assets (like a table's construction with this Editor) but not really sure.

Numerous searches show reference to the PHYSICS choices as ways to tweak tables you're playing.

It seems the greatest need for this is switching between EM games to SS games.

I don't think this is an issue regarding any video settings. Appreciate the links, and read them.

In limbo at the moment as I decide what to do for a third screen, replacing the real DMD.

The 'simple' thing to do would be to order a stretch monitor... which can be made to fit the

cutout in the plywood. I'd prefer to do a full DMD tho, but that would require major mods to

the backglass cabinet. Either way, it'll likely require a re-install of Baller, as I don't believe

there is a way to change once it's been set to a 2 screen setup.

1, 2, 3 - Acceptable answers at this point.

4. I've got both EM and SS VPX tables installed and they look/play good. Again, never changed that setting. Actually, never change anything in VPX in-between tables (as I run them from PinballY Front-End).

5. As you wish, but that screen is where we adjust for performance/quality. "Slowing Down" sounds like maybe a possible Vertical-Sync issue to me.

7. Unknown (never used it).

6. I would suggest you connect it properly, but temporarily attach to the lower-portion of the backglass (over the existing hole) with picture-hanging-velcro or double-sided-foam-tape. Stick it on the front there and make sure it works before you go cutting-up your nice cabinet to install it inside. Cables can be draped over the side for a few days.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there a way/tool for doing that?

The tables haven't been affected other than the ball plays as if it weights 5 pounds. Games which use auto-plunge can barely

get the ball up the ramp. Flipper shots rarely get the ball above mid playfield. All other aspects of the game seem normal.

7. Unknown (never used it).

I chose Baller simply because it seems to have the largest following/least issues.

Not had the table long enough to become familiar with any of the programs.

Correct. No cutting on the backglass panels until everything is verified good/working.

No desire to cut it at all, but it seems full DMD is becoming more and more the norm.

           Thanks!
