B2S 2.1.1.0

 

Black Hole has had this issue on my system for months. The ball movement is extremely choppy. If I turn oft the backglass, the gameplay is smooth as butter. As a test, I used the Black Hole backglass on two other tables and it makes the gameplay choppy as well.

 

I downloaded two different Black Hole backglasses...same choppy play. This is the only game that seems to have this issue. Is the Black Hole backglass just cursed or something?

Upgraded to B2S 2.1.6.392...same choppy play. All other tables fine.

Tried three different Black Hole tables. All choppy with the backglass. All smooth without. All other Gottlieb tables smooth. This is weird.

My understanding is that it loads it as a full Server program .EXE or process ... for optimal performance while running the table's assigned DirectB2S file.

I have all my B2S files set that way. I've never heard of a reason to not run/set it this way.

Years ago, I found that the helicopter in Rescure-911 would only fly properly with it set. I've also seen that B2S-files tend to "drag the table down" with it not set (causing lag).

The settings for each Table are saved in the B2STableSettings.xml file. Mine lives in the \Tables\ folder.

I've done the "save settings routine" for all my 20-30 Tables, so I can see them all there.

 

Looks like there is also a "Global Settings" section at the top.

 

This is just from Google, but it says:

 

<DefaultStartMode> setting in the B2STableSettings.xml file controls how the B2S Backglass Server launches and interacts with other frontends or player windows.

 

Common <DefaultStartMode> Values

0: Standard/Legacy mode.

1: Plugin or alternative interaction mode (depends on specific build features).

2: EXE mode (runs the backglass as a separate process)

Default values goes into top section. In general, you don't need to save any b2s specific if the global section already has what you want.
