Hello! My name is Nick and I always loved pinball games, although I was never good at them. I really wasn't interested in goals or high scores; I just loved watching the ball bounce around the cabinet. Because that is what ticks my dopamine, but I've been getting into more competitive pinball and really shooting for high scores. I tried other virtual pinball games but wasn't having it, because FX Pinball isn't my thing, but it's still fun and amazing. The Zaccaria pinball game is bad in so many ways. So, I was hesitant on downloading this open-source project because I thought it would be complicated. But it was really easy and I quickly learned roms are for the recreations. I have downloaded several amazing tables already and am having a blast. I can't wait to get to know all of you more! Also, I'm 25 years old not some really old person and I love licensed cabinets.

Welcome to the forum.

1. Yeah, me either ... too fantasy for me. When I was a boy we had Aladdin's Castle in the mall and it was filled with real (licensed) pinball machines (Bally, William's, etc.). Then (up to about 10 years ago) we had Diversions Game Room here in Texas.

2. good to hear.

4. Yeah, me too.

3. Excellent. T2 is in my Top-5. I have the g5k's v1.1 on my cabinet. Also, Theatre of Magic is good. Oh, and don't forget F14-Tomcat.

Star Trek - TNG is my favorite (played alot in the arcades and now on my 3-screen cabinet). I suggest either:

a Bigus v3.x Mod of Knorr and Clark Kent's table, or
b. VPinWorkshop v1.1 Mod (just found this one, play testing it now)

- In either, you can enable the laser-sights for the phasers, and there is an Alt-Color available for the DMD. Just a few tweaks that enhance it without making it too un-authentic (IMO).

Welcome Nick.

Great to hear your enthusiasm. The more you scroll on the forum, the more you learn and discover.

What is your setup now, a screen with keyboard or controller? 95% of us started that way.
Wait until you play a VPX cabinet. It will suck you in, within minutes. Hooked for life, promised !

Fun knows no age. Especially pinball.

Enjoy.

Marcel.
