While testing one of my ROMs to make sure it wasn't corrupted I noticed in the giant list of ROMs that certain entries have an 'X' next to the ROM name.  I took a screenshot but the forum isn't allowing me to add it to the post.  What does the 'X' mean?

It means (as far as VPinMame is concerned) that the rom-set-file is present on your computer.

The whole list are the ones that version of vPinMame "knows about".

I guess you're talking about PinMame32, here a red X means that there's a known ROM-set, but that it isn't emulated correctly yet. An example is '4x4' by Atari. A separate column (ROMs) indicates with 'yes' and 'no' whether you have the complete ROM-sets on your computer.

Thanks for clarifying.  It's interesting that it marks all the variant ROMs as well even though I don't have them.

No problem.

I'd have to take a look on variants-question next time I have my cabinet booted-up. For example, which popular table/rom-set are you talking about?
