Hello together,
Story:
im Marvin an new in this forum. I got into this topic when the father of my girlfriend bought a digital flipper and bricked the Windows Installation.
I then installed everything from Scratch without any knowledge in this topic.
After a lot of tries we got Visual Pinball X running with Pinball X as Frontend.
Because he wasnt happy with the Performance he ordered a New PC.
I then switched the Disk to the new Computer and the updated the 32 Bit VPX Install to 64 Bit.
During the Migration with the help of a manual we fixed many little Things that weren't right with the Setup i configured.
The Last step involves some settings regarding PinUp Game Manager. But we never Had installed or used PuP.
Problem:
We have a fully working Visual Pinball X Installation 64 and 32 Bit with PinballX as Frontend. How do i Install PinUp Popper without breaking my current Installation? I havent found instructions for this anywhere.
If im correct the Baller Installer would completly Install everything Visual Pinball, VPinMaMe, B2S, Freezy etc and wouldve safed me much time xD. But i only need PinUp Popper the Rest is already there.
Does someone know a way to do this? If im correct you need PuP to Play some nice tables and its used more often in newer tables.
Thanks in Advance.
Best regards
Marvin

Someone else will have to help you with your VPX issues.
But if you are saying that you just moved your old C-Drive SSD to the new faster Windows-11 computer and booted-it up as the C-Drive and expect it to work properly?
That seems like a mis-step right there. That isn't recommended or really even allowed (and hasn't been for many years now).

@Doahrn welcome to the forum, your story sounds like you winged it at least 90 percent of the way from scratch, which is rather impressive considering the complex interwovenness of the software
So I'm guessing what you want is to install Pinupplayer (PUP) so you can play tables with PUPpacks like Die Hard, Iron Maiden, etc?
Don't confuse this with Pinup Popper and the Baller install: Pinup Popper is a front end and Media manager like PinballX, and the Baller installer is an all in on installer of all requisite Virtual Pinball software, but both of these you already have covered. It's an easy mixup since all three come from Nailbuster's site and are often mentioned next to each other. (also the site is a densely packed information hub not for the faint of heart.)
So, if you go to Nailbuster's site you will find all three components: Pinup Install system (which is the Baller installer, which you don't need), Pinup Player for PUPpacks, and Pinup Popper (front end, which you also don't need).
If you want Pinupplayer only you can find it here.
https://nailbuster.c..._player_install
Download and follow the instructions VERY closely, it's a quite involved install and you really need to follow the YouTube guide step by step (and not just the wiki article) to not miss any vital step.
Good luck

Hey, thanks you very much for your help
.
Yes i configured most by checking forum and figuring Out myself xD. Was hell i Tell you
.
Yes correct we want to play the tables with the PuP Packages and fancy animations
.
Does the PinUp Player contain the PinUp Popper Game Management? The guy from the guide mentions it as Last step: https://github.com/v...cab-Setup-Guide
This guide works a charm and i am now at the PinUp Section. I mean i dont think i will need 32 Bit VPX but it seems like that it makes sense to have it.
Also two questions about tables:
- How will i Install PinUp Packages for VPX
- Is there a way to find full tables with everything for VPX and PinballX? Its so annoying to search 20 Forums for one File that fits to the Table you want
.
I will try the guide in monday. Thanks deadman
@Tesla Why do you answer If you have nothing important to say. Moving your SSD from one to another Computer is allowed xD. Why shouldnt it? I have a W10 license and Just upgraded the Hardware beneath. Also IT worked instantly and perfectly.

Hey mate, we've all been there, it's also a good thing you did cause now you can fix most anything!
You don't need Pinup Popper Game Management since it would duplicate what you have with PinballX.
I'm also a PinballX user and it has many useful plugins, you can also download the PinballX Database Manager for more ease of use.
After you download a Puppack, unblock, unzip and put the subfolder in the directory PinUPsystem\PUPVideos.
Usually there is a .bat file you need to run for your setup, but even then setting up each individual Puppack can be a challenge. (I have now switched to copying Pinupplayer.ini into each Puppack's directory and customizing it, but that's a story for another day.
But if that's all set (and you followed all of Nailbuster's instructions, like activating the plugin in B2S etc.) the PUPpack will start by itself when the table is launched.
And: what you are looking for is the Virtual Pinball Spreadsheet, just browse or search for the table you need and all parts you need will be listed on one page: https://virtualpinba...heet.github.io/

Hi @deadmanworking
Thank you so much! I will try this out
.
Thanks so much for the spreadaheet.
What does the PinballX Database Manager do?
There is also a Controller installed in the Cabinet that was already configured from the guy owning the Table before. Do you know how i can configure it? There are two Buttons that arent working right now.
Also Just one more questions: Do you know if there is a manual in how to build a small Pinball Table? After playing the pinball it was so much fun, but i dont have space for a normal sized Table
. I want to build my own but way smaller. I know that it is possible but i dont want to search everything xD.
Thank you so much! I will try this out

Database Manager just makes it a bit easier to assign audio or images/video to the frontend (also via FTP). The included Game Manager is also fine though.
What controller is it ? Do you have access to the inside, or can you find out what the device is called?
You're in luck, I spent the last 10 months building a 2:3 scale minicab, which 27"/19" build and the size is ~80x40cm, not sure if that's what you mean by "way smaller" but I found out that this is the absolute smallest size possible to fit a regular sized motherboard and GPU plus 3 amps, exciters and even basic DOF. You can check it out here: https://docs.google...._0MuZHqGYpt/pub

Hi,
we installed PinUp Player and installed a PUP Pack. Sadly the screen settings are not saved.
He safes the settings for PUPlayer with size and xpos, ypos but when i change or drag to a diffrent screen and hit safe, he just jumps back to the main monitor.
I couldnt find a solution for this.
DO you know why this happens?

Maybe try editing your Pinupplayer.ini file directly, if you open it you will see [Info0], [Info1], [Info2] etc., [INFO1] is usually the DMD position and [INFO2] is usually the backglass position. Not a bad idea to familiarize with it tbh, I used the setup program only once and after having to tinker a lot found that the "easiest" way is to copy Pinupplayer.ini into each individual new Puppack subfolder and edit accordingly.

Right, the ini sets up the screen, but you'll have to look into the individual PUPpack to see what screens are called with default screen settings and triggers.
You can open the PUPpacks in PUPpackeditor.exe, on the Screens tab you will see which screens are defined in the Puppack - sometimes they use many screens up to #15 or 20, which are then routed to the backglass or DMD (#2 and #1 usually, but sometimes #5 or any other); and on the Triggers tab you can see what is called to which screen; these two parts should give you a rough idea about what should be going where, and if you have only 2 screens you would ignore topper etc. anyhow.
By the way this only works for tables that don't call everything in script, I've come across one or two of those as well

that's why you need to set backglass and DMD to second screen with the pixel settings in Pinupplayer.ini
e.g. if your playfield has 1920x1080 your backglass would be set to position x=1920, y=0
Very important that you set up the 2 screens next to each other.

Had to set the x and y in relation to the main screen. Now it works thanks.
