Hey, I have an issue with a SS game. If anyone can help me resolve this issue, that would be much of a help to me.

Issue: Bally MPU 6803 Games (Eight Ball Champ, Beat The Clock, Lady Luck)

I first experienced this issue about a week or so ago, where all of these 3 games would not let me enter the Self-Test mode, even when I pressed the exact buttons necessary for it. It used to work with Eight Ball Champ before, but now it doesn't anymore. I also tried Beat The Clock and Lady Luck, neither of those worked too. The games are still playable, I just can't be able to change the settings of it at all anymore.

Also I used to have another issue, that's why the forum says "An few issues" on it. I forgot to change it, that's all.

You might want to mention your version of VPX.

I don't have any of those tables to test. I remember 8-Ball Deluxe though (I should get that one).

Are there VPX or VPinMame buttons to define first?

Do you need to "Open the Coin-Door" first?

Have you tried with Force Exclusive Full-Screen temporarily disabled? I notice the other day that you can't change the F6 Dip-Switches when it's still enabled.

I am running VPX 10.8.0 right now.

The Bally 6803 Keys are:

(working right now)

3 for Coin slot 1

4 for Coin slot 2

5 for Coin slot 3

0 for Sound Diagnostics

When I checked End then 9 it worked. I always thought I had to press Enter but it was not that. Thanks for the help.

Also the F6 DIP switches do work again, I set it back to Window mode.

Glad you figured it out (and thanks for posting the process to get it working).

So, how did you know that all these are all "Bally MPU 6803" tables? Is there a list somewhere?

I sorta remember some of these. IIRC, they were some of the first truly electronic ones. I have a spreadsheet of all my tables (about 40). It sure would be nice to have a column with the System it runs-on for each. For things like you are going, needing to adjust the sound, etc.

And then I could just keep the notes on how to do the basic-stuff on each of the popular Systems (that VPX emulates).

Is there a list somewhere?

For me, when I want to change the number of balls or something similar, the process is usually:

- Find the table on IPDB

- See what system it uses

- Go back to VPF and find the appropriate tutorial

But yeah, a list would be nice. Maybe contact the Virtual Pinball Spreadsheet people? They have implemented an IPDB button in the upper right corner of each table - I have no idea how much work it would be for them to pull the system info as well. At the moment, clicking on the system name in IPDB brings up a list of all tables using the same system.

I used IPDB and a manual to find out that it uses that system. That's why I know it's a 6803 System game. It was between Eight Ball Champ and Atlantis IIRC.
