Hi again all,

I´m upgrading from a 2 screen setup to a 3 screen setup (I´m using the virtual DMD option in ´Game Settings´ to get the DMD horizontally positioned).

In my previous 2 screen setup the virtual DMD was displayed on screen 2 together with my Backglass.

Now I have attached screen 3 (for displaying the DMD), but can not get focus on the virtual DMD to drag it to screen 3.

It seems to be hidden behind ....?

I there anyone that can show me changing which setting to get focus on the virtual dmd to be able to drag it to screen 3?

Thanks again in advance!

Cheers,

FD.

Other than alt+tabbing to the DMD window (which you already seem to have done according to your screenshots) and dragging it, the only advice I can give you is to maybe not start the table via your PinballY frontend, as it may steal focus. (This is speculation, as I'm not using PinballY and don't know much about it)

Run the table directly from VPX and see if it makes a difference.

Hi

At first, start the table.

Then, if you can´t see where DMD is, press "ALT TAB".

Maybe the DMD will be on playfield at x=0,y=0

I think is better not use virtual DMD ROM. Use DMDextensions. Some ROMs can be colorized.

Config your ROM setup this way pressing F1 for DMDextensions. If you can´t see ROM setup menu, press ALT TAB.

You can drag and resize the image. Right click to save ROM DMD config.

Thanks Emanoel299 ..

Tried this .. not using the virtual DMD this time.

I can drag it to the third screen, no problem.

Only problem stays is that I cannot position it horizontally (see screenshot display 2 - backglass & display 3 DMD).

Is there an easy way to accomplish that? :-)

Thanks again!

Cheers,

FD.

Hi

No, no. You are using VirtualDMD ROM

You are not using DMDextensions.

Anyway, for some tables, Virtual DMD works this way.

Maybe the creator put on script the Rol function as in sample AC/DC

 With Controller
        .GameName = cGameName
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol") = 1 ----------- Change it to "0"
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_width")=128
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("dmd_height")=512
        .SplashInfoLine = "AC/DC LUCI (Stern 2013)"
        .HandleKeyboard = 0
        .ShowTitle = 0
        .ShowDMDOnly = 1
        .ShowFrame = 0
        If NOT CustomDMD Then .Hidden = DesktopMode 'hides the external DMD when in desktop mode and color ROM is not in use
        .HandleMechanics = 0
        On Error Resume Next
        .Run GetPlayerHWnd
        If Err Then MsgBox Err.Description
        On Error Goto 0

Maybe you can fix it

Thanks again Emanoel299.

Not using the Virtual DMD anymore and got the ´rol´ issue fixed with the ´SetDMD´ .. (see screenshot)

Only thing now is that the sound is enormously echoing.

Any idea where that comes from and how to resolve?

Cheers,

FD.

Thanks SixOfTwelve .. I´ve tried both to start a table from the frontend as well as directly from VPX without any difference.

Good thing: problem solved with SetDMD tool, only problem now is sound is echoing .. you might have any idea why?

Thanks again!

Cheers,

FD.

Hi

I had a similar issue once.

In my case was performance issue with 3 Screens setup. With 2 screens works normal.

My video card RX 550 4GB was not enough power I think.

When I change to Nvidia card GT 730 2GB, works fine with 3 screens. No echoes.

In additional:

Open task manager. Stay on top.

tm_t.png

Take a look in performance what happen in  CPU, Memory and GPU.

If CPU clock goes to down when a table is running, maybe your FAN CPU is not ok.

In play game, press F11 to look what happen with FPS.

You´re absolutely right Emanoel299 .. GPU load is almost 100 percent loaded ..

I have to start tweakin´. Replacing the vid.card is not possible (laptop) ;-)

Thanks again!

FD.

@flyingdutchman if you get audio echo/tearing (stretched out effect) on laptop it could also very well be overheating. I added two 80mm us fans to the back of my Surface pro which started overheating after about 10min and it helped a lot.

@FD

:dblthumb:  :dblthumb:  :dblthumb:  :dblthumb: I can say from myself.

To play in cabinet mode as a real cabinet pinball needs a Desktop.

Deadmanworking gave a good a idea for laptop.

Cheers
