Okay what am I doing wrong this time? I downloaded all files for cactus canyon, renamed the b2s file exactly the same as the vpx file.

Table starts and plays but without back glass, tried different downloads for the back glass but none will show.

I tried to find a solution online before asking here, but couldn't find it

Regards Peter

Hi

The basic

Did you install the backglass server correctly?

I use to install in the same table path but I think other path is possible.

The last version is 2.1.3

If OK. Did you make register the new installation running "B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe"?

If OK. Check if the icon in the task bar is showing. If ok, press ALT TAB to see it. Maybe it is wrong screen position or screen settings.

Take a look in "ScreenRes.txt" file in table path

If not. Take a look on VPX GUI "Configure Keys, Nudge and DOF.." section if "Disable B2S" is marked. By default is Unmaked.

Hi thank you for your response, I used the latest baller installer to set everything up, seems like all went well, the included leprechaun table is working fine incl back glass, I checked your remarks those also seems okay, only thing I didn't understand is the line in the quote, but if I check back glass in the PuP editors configure displays, it shows up om the right screen

also I tried looking in the script if I had to chance set controller but i couldn't fine anything like Set Controller = CreateObject("VPinMAME.Controller" or something like that, downloaded 2 more tables both are working but again both without back glass. I must have missed something? then again the included leprechaun back glass is working fine I really don't understand it

If the backglass opens with double click on the backglass file - the file and the server is working.

I meant if the BackGlass Server is OK, when you start the table in VPX GUI, in the task bar you will see two Icons:

One for VPX and other for BackGlass Server.

And then, when the table is runnig, when you press ALT TAB you will see all windows task at moment and the BackGlass picture must be there

If not, it means that the BackGlass Server is not running.

A question: Which is your Operacional system?

@peterhage

OK. Don´t worry. VPX GUI means "Graphical Unit Interface" I think.

It is the program "VpinballX.exe" for DX and "VpinballX_GL.exe" for GL where you open the tables normally.

Whitout any frontend as PinupPopper or PinballX.

As you are working with a Real DMD, I don´t know if it needs any other kind of aproach.

I use to play with Virtual DMD. 3 screens.

Struggling for 2 days now with this and after searching the net I saw a youtube instruction that I should create a b2s folder in VPMame where I should put all my b2s files, my baller installer 2025.01 did put those b2s files in the tables folder, should I move them to make the backglass work?

Hi Peterhag

I always put my B2S files in same tables folder with VPX tables since when a start to play in cabinet mode with VP9 and then VPX.

The B2S files have to be in the same folder as the table file (std. is the table directory.), and they must have the same name as the table name.

As mentioned above in post #5, when doubleclick the B2S file it must be displayed by running the B2S server in display mode.

If that doesn't work, run the B2S_ScreenResIdentifier.exe in the tables directory and check the position of the BG. With this tool you can change, check or create the ScreenRes.txt in a comfortable manner.

The Baller installer still installs the B2s server in the table directory instead of in its own directory. But that's irrelevant for now. This is the easiest way, and I'd leave it that way until it works.

Check that there is also a B2STableSettings.xml in the table dir. But the newer B2S version shows an error message when this file is missing.
The installed Leprechaun table for vpx is an unfortunate example, as it uses a PUPpack to display BG and DMD. I would recommend downloading a simple table like Bronco for testing (https://vpuniverse.c...-gottlieb-1977/). Copy both of its files into the table directory, rename the b2s file like ist table name, then call vpx, load this table, and start it.

If BG isn't displayed, register B2S server again running B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe, check for errors.

Restart the PC and check again.

I would suggest to read my documentation, Chapter 12.4, link in my footer. There is also described who to enable B2s log

That means, the server is not registered properly - or the b2s screen is shown out your window caused by a wrong screenres.txt  Are you on Desktop?

I had a similar problem, when I was changing everything to Hidden within the B2S.Server.EXE for one particular table. (.EXE is what you see in a table when you right-click on the backglass.)

I also noticed in my B2sTableSettings.xml file (in the Tables folder) that the numbers/settings of the most-recent table were off. So I went in that file and changed the numbers for the recent table to something that matched other working tables.

Doing that allowed me to see the backglass the first table with the problem. I right-clicked on its backglass, made sure that not everything was hidden, and Saved the settings.

Then I re-installed the tables that I uploaded after the one with the original issue, and now all is well.

Just in case this works for you.

I'm having issues with the latest b2s server. Clicking a b2s file opens perfectly fine, but running vpx some tables will not show.

Going back to 2.1.2 everything works great.

@lafester which tables do not show it? Do you have 100% identical file names for backglass and tables?

Currently testing CFTBL which says to use 2.1.3. Seems to affect tables with Serum HD colorization running but I have not really checked them all.

Oh, I do not name them identically. Is that a requirement for 2.1.3? None my bg would work if thats the case.

As far as I recall the fuzzy name logic default became stricter between the two versions so might be worth checking if it works if you make the file names identical.

I have this issue with 2.1.2 with junkyard cats 2 screens only. 3 screens is fine.

@Emanoel I remember having the same issue with the 2 screen version, couldn't get it to work and ultimately end up using the 3 screen version with B2SDMD for the scores.
