File Name: Op-Pop-Pop (Bally 1969)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 22 May 2025

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1969
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the table Op-Pop-Pop by Bally from 1969

Playfield and plastics redrawn by me.
Backglass redrawn by Silversurfer
Instruction cards by Inkhochnito.

The table is configured as a REPLAY table, if you prefer to play the ADD-A-BALL version then change the variable at the top of the script, Replay, from True to False. Now instead of awarding credits will add a ball.

The rules are based on the videos I have seen on YouTube.

This is a VPX8 table

Great work.

(Just an observation, but the real table videos i watched the slingshots have much more power.)

I feel uncomfortable noting any observations, as i wouldnt know where to start making the great works you produce.

I like those pointy people :) They are easy to re-draw :)

About the slingshots: yes, I saw that video, but I saw other videos and they were not as strong. I guess the table was restored and the new slingshots are stronger. Since the table was from 1969 I decided to make the slingshots weaker than modern slingshots. They can be easily change though, just find the walls named LeftSlingshot and RightSlingshot, select them and on the properties at the right, in the Physics tab you will find the Slingshot Strength, then just increase the value. It is at 8 now, you may increased it up to about 12 to get a stronger slingshot.

Yeah i increased force to 20 (i tried various other figures up to that), i like it better with more force.

I wonder then if the force on real tables varied , i didnt think of that, i only went by that video.

I should watch various table videos in future.

The pointy people tables are some of my favourite EM tables, the art is great.

In the reviews I read that some people should like Paradise (Gottlieb 1965). I have searched for images, and I think I have enough pictures to make the table :) I'll do that next :)

Can I put in a request for those Game Plan cocktail tables with the roulette wheel? Real, Foxy Lady, etc? :juggle:

Yes, I know you want them, I have them in my list, it won't take long until I'll start with them :) June 4th I'll have a knee surgery, so I guess I'll have plenty of time to search for pictures and to redraw any part I need :)

Thanks JP, and thanks for your ear in PMs.

If I knew vp was going to be a thing back then, I'd have taken a bunch of pics when they were in the basement!

I'll be praying for a speedy recovery for you.  :dblthumb:
