I've been experimenting with my Realtek Audio's environmental audio effects to add reverb/echo etc for large VR rooms. I feel this adds quite a lot to the immersion. Here's a comparison video I made. Has anyone else tried this?

Not that no

I have a few tables that i have play a multi track ogg (not good for cab, ok for desktop or anything that has a normal surround sound setup)

The oog is just various arcade ambience tracks, so you have different things going on around you, maybe someone coins up space invaders behind you, someone is playing another pin to your left etc.

Fun but impractical for a cab owner with SSF etc.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

The positional audio for the other machines around you sounds pretty cool. Can you give an example of a table that includes this or is it something you modded yourself?

Do you recall what software you would have used to create a positional audio track? Is it as easy as say loading a an audio track for a particular machine and then being able to position it in space with a GUI?

Audacity is simple to use.

You can do standard multi tracked ogg's

Granted getting panning etc is not exactly simple, but that goes for any audio file.

You make the track you want
add it to the table, set it to backbox
have it play at game start, or table load or whatever
It will play in 3d space however you made it

Channel mapping is as follows (channel # = Track number)

5.1 Channel Order (6 channels): 1. Channel 1: Front Left (FL) 2. Channel 2: Front Right (FR) 3. Channel 3: Center © – Mainly for dialogue/vocals 4. Channel 4: LFE – Subwoofer (Low-Frequency Effects) 5. Channel 5: Surround Left (SL) 6. Channel 6: Surround Right (SR)

7.1 Channel Order (8 channels): 1. Channel 1: Front Left (FL) 2. Channel 2: Front Right (FR) 3. Channel 3: Center © 4. Channel 4: LFE (Subwoofer) 5. Channel 5: Side/Surround Left (SL) 6. Channel 6: Side/Surround Right (SR) 7. Channel 7: Rear Left (RL / BL) 8. Channel 8: Rear Right (RR / BR)
