Very interesting alternative to something like the AtGames 4KP:

Kickstarter fully funded in under two minutes, and Wonderland Amusements already trebled their goal.  Looks like we'll have lots of real pinball owners by year's end.

Well, this could be an entry dr*g or it's killing potential buyers for Stern and the other "classic" Pinbuilders

I think the greatest threat is to AtGames and their 4KP:

To be fair, Stern did it to themselves. Their stuff is WAY overpriced. But even if they made Alice $1,000 instead of $799, I think they'd still be ok. That's still a heck of a deal for someone's basement.

I'd buy one, every time. But that's if they ship down under. Prices here are insane thanks to the irritating craze a few years back of interior decorators moronically gutting pinballs to make coffee tables and wall hangings, leaving a drained market with inflated prices.

I see that comparison somewhat as apples and oranges. I already own a pimped-out ALP HD with OTG for my virtual pinball games, so adding a real pinball machine to my room was an easy decision.  However, if at winter holiday shopping time buyers need to choose one game, then I agree with your view.

Maybe the competition will prod AtGames to lower their price on the 4KP -- it's definitely too expensive now with the necessary add-ons.

Not really a market Stern dabbles in.

This is a mini pin, for the mass home market.
I am sure that are a lot of compromises that had to be made on materials quality to hit the price point.

Sterns private offerings are full sized machines that are for the most part the commercial machine with some minor differences.
Much different customer base.

I dont think Stern offers anything in the market that Alice is targeted towards because Stern would not be happy with the required compromises
and attaching their name to them.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow
