Just delete that line :) It was a test for another table :)

I always reuse older scripts of similar tables, as many routines will be the same, so sometimes some old line will still be there. This time I didn't needed to use any test key, and then I forgot to check for that key :)

The table was built from scratch, but the script was from my latest Metallica table :)

The table freezes upon loading, just like World Poker Tour does.  May I ask what the fix is for this?  I have the latest of everything. Thanks!

Looks fantastic. Big fan of jpsalas tables. I was told a lot of hacking was done in the script to get this freneticamnesic vpx table to behave and the latest vpinmame doesn't like it. :(

I also was having the same problem with Bigus mod of freneticamnesic table, sometimes it worked with VPX8 and sometimes I had to go back to VPX7.2 to get to work. I saw the script in Bigus and freneticamnesic tables and I thought "why so complicated script?" and I thought about to build the table myself. While searching for resources I found this World Joker Tour table and I thought I should make it with those graphics.

I built the table using VPX8 RC4 and an older vpinmame 3.6 beta. They were not absolute the latest revisions, and after 11 days the table was working perfectly.

Today I decided to update to the latest revision of VPX8 and vpinmame, so I downloaded the latest VPX8 Master:

Merge pull request #1935 from mjrgh/FrontEndControls-10.8.0 · vpinball/vpinball@21ff0b3

and I downloaded the 4 versions, x86, x64 and the GL versions

And the latest vpinmame from here:

Release v3.6.0-1122-79a301d · vpinball/pinmame

and I also downloaded both the x86 and x64.

Although I only downloaded the SC versions.

VPX8 gave me the error that hidapi.dll was missing and also the VPX8 x64 also was missing the hidapi64.dll. So I searched for an answer, and it looks like VPX8 Master revisions is missing those dll from the zip, but the 10.8.1 has them. So, I downloaded the latest 10.8.1 and unpacked those 2 dll into the VP folder, and VPX8 worked fine.

I also installed the latest C++ runtimes, from here: Download Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One Oct 2024 | TechPowerUp

I also downloaded the latest Nvidia driver, which came out yesterday: GeForce Game Ready Driver 566.03 | Windows 11 | NVIDIA, revision 566,03 for Windows 11.

Windows 11 is also updated.

And I tested the table, and it still worked fine.

So, what's the problem with that rom? I don't know. I also have had that same problem with the Bigus table that it hangs right after the displaying of the red leds, and sometimes it only worked with VPX7.2, but now it is also working with these latest versions. The problem has been intermittent, one day it worked and another day it didn't.

My table uses just a normal plain script, no strange hacks, nothing special, and it works with the latest revisions of the programs. So, what's the problem? I don't know, but it doesn't seem related only to VPX or vpinmame.

I had the same hidapi64.dll error updating to vpx 10.8.0 rev. 2007 and vpinmame 3.6.0-1122. I went to vpx10.8.0 rev.2000 and everything works. As for the WPT table it works 99% of the time.

You simply need to get the hidapi.dll and hidapi64.dll from the 10.8.1 package. They have simply forgot to include it in the Master 10.8 version :) I guess they will include it in the next revisions :)

I was just preparing my laptop for my trip to Mallorca (on Saturday :) ), and LOL the table shows the same error, the lights stop working after the leds turn on :) It is the same Windows 11, same updates, the VP folder is copied, so they are just the same as my main computer.

The only difference is the graphics card, which is an Intel Iris in the laptop.

I was using version 31.0.101.2115 and I updated to the latest 31.0.101.2130, but it didn't help.

All the VPX versions do the same, even VPX7.2 and VPX7.3 (apart from the flashers not working, of course, as they only work in VPX8). So why the lights stop working is a mystery to me, as it is the only table as I know that it does that.

And I only use VPX and vpinmame, no external dll or front ends.

After a lot of testing different versions, adding a dedicated led timer instead of the LampCallback, th only thing that got the lights working was to replace the vpinmame.dll with the version 3.5. So, the problem is with vpinmame 3.6.

So, to all who have problems with the table, just copy the vpinamme.dll version 3.5 to your vpinmame folder and when the table is finished just copy back the version you are using now. There is no need to run setup.exe, just copy/paste and it works.

I think Wheel of Fortune may have a similar issue with 10.8    I got a PM about it and the previous fixes for WPT got it going for him.

With these 2 tables in mind, I knocked-up a mock LED array of little red walls and switched the disablelighting off and on by rows to test the effect, and it looked much the same as lights. Just in case nothing else works reliably, it may be a solution :)

Yes, but it should be better to find out first which version started to show this error. I know the version from January 2024 doesn't work. Tomorrow I'll do some tests. Now I have a computer which fails all the time. My main computer worked one day and the next day didn't work, so I could never say what was the cause of the error, but now I'm quite sure it is vpinmame :) I'll if I find the first version which showed this error and I'll open an issue to github
