Is there a way to add a ball save/ peg (between the flippers) to tables in VPX so that a noob like me can have a better chance of playing tables for a longer period of time without the ball just going down the drain constantly? Lol

yes, just find a similar peg on the table, box select, and copy/paste at. right click and unlock to move all objects as one. make sure you get the rubber, the peg/post, and any round wall that may be associated with it. the round wall is the collidable object in most cases. The actual peg is usually just for looks. also right click on each element of the ORIGINAL object and see if they belong to a collection. If they do, assign the copied objects to the same corresponding collections.

once you have the objects in place make sure that the ball can still fall between the flippers and peg. I use a kicker set to the default diameter since it is relatively the same size as the ball, and just drag it around to measure. Just make sure to delete it or it will eat the ball.

The best place to find the peg to copy is usually above and between the in and out lanes

@lastbornwolf Experimentation and break/fix with existing VPX tables is a great way to learn. It's also a lot of fun.

Just make a backup copy of your VPX table and experiment all you like. If you mess up the table just restore the backup of the table and try again.

If you create a New 'Full Example' table you will see it offers MANY examples of pegs you can just copy and paste into your table. The example pegs off to the right don't have the bouncy, rubber part but you can easily add rubbers. If you just want a quick test, just copy/paste one of the pegs on the table that already has a rubber ring.

Note when copying between tables *both* tables have to be open in VPX at the same time to successfully copy between them. That was a mistake I was making for a long time at first. I'd open sample table, select and copy whatever objects to the clipboard, *close* example table, open my table and 'Paste' wouldn't be available. You want to open both without closing and then just hop back and forth between tables using the 'Window' menu.

Have fun!
