File Name: (Pinball) Lizard (Game Plan 1980)

File Submitter: Themer

File Submitted: 31 Jan 2024

File Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables

Author(s): LuvThatApex
Destruk
dboyrecords
Themer
digitalarts
Manufacturer: Gameplan
Year: 1980
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

An updated version of (Pinball) Lizard originally made by LuvThatApex and Destruk and ported to VP9 by dboyrecords.
Thanks to digitalarts both a desktop and cabinet version are available for download.

I updated the interaction with the ROM according to the documentation of the original table
Up to now some switches and lamps were missing or linked incorrectly.

I also designed a screen for the DIP switch menu, reusable for all Game Plan MPU1 games.

Someone with the graphical skills can port this to VPX.

I don't have that much affinity with graphics or rather, it would consume more time than I would like to spend and my result wouldn't be far as good as that of the artists here anyway.

So I made this update to the table, such that the ROM is working properly and for someone else to pick it up and do the graphical work.

Thanks for the modification. I added your version to the download section and mentioned you, but removed the B2S script. If the B2S file has the same name as the table, it will start automatically.

I started from the VP9 table, as that was available. All I wanted to do, is to assure that the ROM was functioning correctly.

Since documentation is sparse (and partially unclear), this might be a hassle for people who want to pick this up but don't know how the table functions.

Then there are two options, team up with someone, creating a dependency or just releasing a version for someone else to pick up whenever wanted.

Yet, I am curious though how hmueck did the conversion. The documentation I found says you have to start more or less from scratch.

I loaded the table in VPX8, imported physics from a JPSalas table, gave everything a material (only using four different ones), made the lights a lot brighter and that's about it.
And now it's a modern VPX table with modern physics. :P

Oh lord no LOL

It is funny as hell though.
Physics not working at all though

Ball flies at around 100 units per sec, right through parts of the back of the table

Good start for anyone wishing to redo the table in vpx though maybe?
