From what I've read, it seems like I may be more interested in using a flasher embedded on the table skirt instead of a DMD. All I really want to do is trigger frame-by-frame animations I make myself SOMEWHERE on screen. I read from a past thread that this might be possible.

What basic flasher commands are there? I don't know how to tell them how to do anything because I learned FP and in FP, they're just lights that turn on and off.

Is there something like

Flasher1.DisplayImage "JackpotAnimationFrame1.png", Visible=1

or something??

I don't know how to light them up or anything. I really just need one or two basic commands to get my table to SHOW IMAGE A and then SHOW IMAGE B. And that's it. Can I do that within one Flasher?

I have animations using rapidly dropping walls that look awesome, but I can't make an entire DMD embedded on my table that way... not without losing my mind anyway. Plus idk if VP has an object limit like FP did.

Please help!!!

flasher.imageA = "Image name"

flasher.imageA = "new image name"

flasher.visible = 1/0

and you can move/rotate flashers of course

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

So is there any way to make it display text? I don't need it but I see the flasher objects say "use script DMD" so I wasn't sure. I realize they're integrated with FlexDMD, so I dont' want to dive too deep, but if it can just display text outright, that'd be cool.

No.

A flasher is a graphical element, not a data element.

It has no means by itself to display alphanumerica data, only image/color data.

Use Script DMD tells it to display what ever DMD data the table script offers up
But DMD data is Image data, not alphanumeric data

You can pre-render your messages as an image, and have the flasher switch to that image

you can put a flasher over another flasher, and have the top one display text images, with a transparent background, and continue showing what is on the bottom flasher

and other things like that

I can even make a flasher play netflix

but you can not tell a flasher

FlasherA.text "say what i want"

Fair enough! Thanks. I'm just making all the frames manually with text on the image, including like "bumper jet hits left" counting down. Slightly tedious, but it's not like the table has hundreds of modes or anything.
