I have the problem that things in the front of the table like flippers and slingshots always lean backwards while things at the back like a vertical back board or a DMD lean forwards.
It is like I'd look through a wideangle lens.
I've played with table height front and back and player z and y. I found combinations that minimized the effect but then the table looked like is was hovering 30 cm above the cabinet, which looked worse that the lean to front/back.
If I could fix this, my Vpin would look almost indistinguishable to the real thing.
I've used the built-in 3D function in VPX not Reshade.
Is there a magical combination of POV settings to fix this?
Are there other settings to adjust outside the F12 POV settings?

I've got the same problem - using the LG interlaced 3d option in VPX. I can get it to look really good, but with the same issues as you described. Would be great to hear if anyone has solved this issue.

Yeah guys. I gave up.

I use only Reshade line interlaced with my LG 3D TV. Native VPX 3D stereo always have problem since VPX 10.6.

I use VPX 10.7.2 or VPX 10.7.4.

I adjusted all my tables POV one by one.

For EM or LED tables, from 60´s untill ending of 80´s, I have two different Reshade settings.

For DMD tables from 90´s, I have others two different Reshade settings.

In both case is to reduce divergence view near plunger or Apron and now that is fine.

The Reshade default values is good but in most DMD tables and some EM or LED tables there was a bit divergence view.

I have a script for PinUp popper where I chose the correct emulator and playlist with the correct Reshade settings. Is better than if use reshade files for that.

For VPX 10.8.0 DX9 or GL version, there is other Reshade settings and I stop to use at least for while in VPX 10.8.0 - 1450 from github.

The new VPX 10.8.1 change so much POV settings from the original.

I don´t know but maybe the VPX is trying to be close to Pinball FX.

But is very good for 2D, desktop mode or VR.

Regards

Have you set up your screen dimension and screen angle in VPX 10.8 graphics settings?

I think for best results the physical screen angle should mimic the angle of a real pinball playfield glass, if the screen is angled too low the playfield may start to appear to tilt backwards towards the backglass. Try adjusting the physical angle of the screen if you can, either by propping up the back of the cabinet or making an internal adjustment to the screen,

I've got the same problem - using the LG interlaced 3d option in VPX. I can get it to look really good, but with the same issues as you described. Would be great to hear if anyone has solved this issue.

Well, solved not really. Actually there is a bug in VPX 10.8, that messes up perspective and other things in 3D interlaced mode. Do not spend time in setting up POV for 3D interlaced mode until the bug is fixed or you use the workaround below. Or you have to do it all again.

Kudos to jueank who found and described the bug. You can read more on GitHub: Incorrect display (scaling) of stereo 3D modes , Degraded / blurry image in stereo 3D modes and Combined X+YZ scaling changes aspect ratio

The only workaround currently is (I type this from memory, some things on your screen might be named slighly different):

1.) Load the table you want to play in VPX 10.8 GL Do not immediately start the table.

2.) Open video preferences and set 3D mode to any anaglyph mode. Yes anaglyph!

3.) Start the table.

4.) Press Q and go into Live Editor/Debug with the mouse

5.) Open video settings from the top menu

6.) Change 3D mode to 3D TV and interlaced or inverse interlace depending on your TV.

7.) Press ESC and choose Resume Game with your mouse.

Enter POV settings (F12) and press Launch button or Return on the keyboard to reset POV to default values. In case you've set up your monitor size, angle and player settings correctly in VPX video settings, your perspective is now almost perfect. Do slight adjustemnts and save POV.

Unfortunately you have to do steps 1 to 7 each time you play a table until the bug is fixed.

For a better workaround we need a hotkey and/or script to automate these steps. If anyone knows a way to switch from 3D anaglyph to 3D interlaced while a table is running with a hotkey or via a script, please post. I've  looked into Nailbuster's Pinup Popper whether I could run a script that does this after a table is launched but I do not have enough knowledge in VPX and Popper to implement this.

Otherwise we can only hope the bug will be fixed soon and we can enjoy real 3D virtual pinball.
