I'm having an issue where FP won't save lighting changes.

I launch a table, bring up the adjustment menu, select a lighting preset, save the table config. The next time I load the table, it's back to the old lighting. The XML table config files are being created.

Any suggestions about where to start troubleshooting this?

If its a PinEvent table... that is by design.... as explained in the included Install Instructions for each table.

BAM Menu - Light and Post Processing settings:

  • BAM Lighting and Post Processing settings are set by the table script and will ALWAYS override the user's settings
  • this is required to ensure that all lighting is set correctly at all times.

I may have updates coming for each table that will at least allow you to change a couple of settings in the TABLE OPTIONS in the table script.

I run into the the loader shutting down in between writing scripts and I have to redo them so this is what I've been doing:

load the board

then go to scripts press compile then save.

'nothing has changed but this seems to hold the info,

or load the game let a ball go through then esc the game

then go to script press compile then save

go back to the board and file, save.then try making the lighting adjustment.and save again.

================================================

Go back to basics redownload a fresh copy of c++ distributables

makes your pc behave better.

check out my link for Ghostbusters I have all the info you need to get your pinball back up and running solid.

Hopefully.

Have a nice day.

Cheers.

Ahh, thanks Terry. Yeah I was trying to change it on Alien Legacy. Good to know it's behaving as designed.

Glad you responded. GB is actually what started me down this road. It was the first table I noticed this on. It will only load in the "Dark Night" lighting preset. I tried a few other tables (all PinEvent) and thought this was a global issue for me. But Terry confirmed that's normal behavior for PinEvent tables. So I tried some non-PinEvent tables and was able to save the lighting for those.

That means that GB seems to be the only table giving me this issue. I reinstalled the C++ distributables and the error remains.

Hey thanks for responding back funny you mentioned this about lighting GB is also the reason I changed the lighting on the table to brighten it up

they have it in dark mode I would say the coders will be paying attn to GB I look forward to seeing the next versions,it's a great table.

Like Terry said though it's made that way."dark mode"

By the way Hey terry glad to see you coincidence I was here reading the same thread while I was answering it I seen you had replied I sure am impressed to see a top notch coder here.

Congratulations on the great work you have done with pin event and bam

amazing the scripts you write.

Very Impressive.

Have a great day Terry glad to see you here.

Cheers.....

And Topper 2k.

So, is there anything I can modify in the script to make it choose a different preset? Dark Night is pretty difficult to see.
