Hi everyone,

I have been trying to search everywhere for a way to pause Future Pinball and VPX without any success. If the solution is in the various forums including Reddit I could not find it. So I apologize if it is.

My system's headend is Pinup popper so I have not tried it in the individual .EXE files but I can't see why it wouldn't. I use an I-PAC 2 for a button controller which I can program a shift function and macro's. I only tested this method on a few tables so far but has worked  in all I tested, so I assume it is the emulators that are performing the pause not pinup popper in some weird way.

Here are the combinations I used in my system;

Future Pinball  -  ALT+PAUSE  - press once to pause which also brings up a high score table then press again and it resumes the game.

Visual Pinball  -  ALT+ESC - press once to pause and then again to un-pause.

I programmed the same key to pause both emulators via the shift function, I hope this helps.

Thanks for a great forum and community.

Hey @bunter2000,

I am looking to do something similar as I have recently installed a Pause button in the cab I am building. I am not completely clear on what you did to achieve this.

Did you need to do anything in Popper config or VPX itself to get the functionality working?

I am not using Future Pinball at the moment whilst I get my head around Popper and VPX. Would appreciate any pointers you may have.

Cheers

I don't know how you would do it on a cabinet with popper but on a PC with keyboard, you press the "Pause" key to pause a game on Future Pinball.  The key is directly above the "PgUp" key on my keyboard.
