Hi All;

My first thoughts: While it's great seeing the Tables in 3D, and I know I can get it dialed in better: Dang there are a lot of downsides:

Color is destroyed.

The TriOvis Glasses give a lot of things (in game and in the real world) a metallic look and a shimmer when you move your eyes or head.

Ghosting.

Frame rate hits.

Latency.

Slightly reduced table size (to make room for the 3D shift).

I'm going to spend some time this weekend adjusting the settings and experimenting with color correction. I've also ordered Anachrome, Color Code and Pro-Ana glasses to see which type of glasses I prefer. (At least this tech is super cheap to experiment with!)

If any devs read this: One improvement would be the playfield should be at the Z-Axis 0 point (So it's not vertically shifted up or down.) This would eliminate ghosting of the playfield surface.

If anyone has any tips: Please share!

I guess this is using ReShade for the anaglyph settings (not native VPX settings)?

If so for the frame rate hits make sure you check the 'performance mode' box at the bottom of the reshade screen after tweaking your settings. Also, not sure if you have other shaders enabled at the same time in ReShade, if so try with those disabled.

For the other stuff a lot might come down to personal preferences, i posted my settings and some screen shots a while back - https://www.vpforums...=48019&p=506100 (note that for trioviz i had to increase the separation values quite a bit after when i updated reshade). Those settings and images work well for me on a 43inch screen.

Edit - i need to read topic titles better. It is using reshade!

Thank you for your reply!

Yup, I am using reshade. I had checked the performance box and had no other shaders enabled.

I will give your settings a try this weekend. (I also have a 43in playfield monitor in my cab.)

For me having the tables in 3D (without the artifacts) would be living the dream:

I'm not ready to put out the cash for VR, and when my friends are over I want to be in the room with them, not in VR.

My winter 2021 project was a quick and easy VP Cab, so it did not have any DOF devices. My winter 2022 project was to upgrade my Cab with SSF and some basic DOF devices (knocker, shaker and flashing fire button).

My reaction to SSF and the DOF devices: Well yeah, it's an improvement, but playing a 2d image trashes any sense of  "immersion".

Damn, not much else i can suggest there unless you have AA enabled or something in VPX that you can turn off. I've not tried VPX 10.8 beta yet but it sounds like the native anaglyph stuff there has been greatly improved, maybe that will have less overhead then ReShade (hopefully someone else can confirm)

I'd suggest you just view the images at the cab first and see if they look better to you than what you have now. There's probably examples from other users hidden away in that other thread too, so find the ones that look best to you and then use the settings from those as a base for yours.

Same here, social play is the way!

I've been using VPX 10.7.4 for 3D as I read that 10.8 had issues with 3D depth.

I'll give 10.8 a try with reshade, as well as the 10.8's built-in Anaglyph 3D mode.

It may take me a while, but I'll also read through the  Anaglyph 3D Thread looking for other examples and hints.

I just played with this a little bit, several months ago. But I did notice a significant improvement playing in the dark (turn off the room lights) and the Amber/Blue glasses.  I haven't seen the TriOvis Magenta /Green(?) so can't comment on them.  Are they superior?

All;

After spending a few more hours playing, I am happier with the VPX's Anaglyph 3D.

I'm going against the grain as so far I've prefer VPX's Built-In Anaglyph 3D over ReShade. I haven't yet decided between  Anaglyph Deghosted Magenta/Green and Anaglyph Dubois Magenta/Green.

Everything I stated at the top of the post is still an issue, but once I corrected one mistake things got a lot better: Like most people, my tables are rotated 270 degrees. Everything I read said that with 270 degree rotation, the ReShade option of "Swap Eyes" should be checked. Well, not for my cab... Unchecking this option really cranked-up the 3D effect and greatly reduced ghosting.

I'm still going to try out other glasses. I'm also going to try-out VPX with BAM using the Kinect 2 with adapter and eye patch. Not kidding, I already ordered an eye patch from Amazon...

anaglyph is depending on the glasses and the colors of the specific table. and I guess on the eyes of the specific user. For me, amber-blue glasses and Depth3D in reshade is ok. Others prefer red-blue.. what you do is right - test everthing and take the best fitting combination for you

Hi guys

About cabinet mode

Yeah! Anaglyph mode 3D in my opinion there is no way. Some tables are good Eg. BW tables and deppends on the table color.

It would be better to have the 3 kinds of Glasses for their especific tables and not at all.

4K playfield is better but I can see lag a bit.

So, I think nowadays 2D is better.

But, for that people that can try to play in a Real 3D TV in VPX 10.8 GL newest realeases, I think there is no way to return to play in 2D again.

Although loose resolution but you have all colors.

Deppends on each player.

Some  peopleo like definition and resolution. 2D TV etc.

Some peopleo like realism.

3D TV is the way or VR.
