I'm following the guide at this URL:  https://gamerinfo.ne...all-fx3/x360ce/

When I get to step 8 and click finish, I get an error box that says unhandled exception and that the given path's format is not compatible.  It also says my Pinscape controller is not supported.

I don't know where to go from here.  I'm using the 32bit version and put it in the same directory as the PinballFX3.exe file.

Has anyone had any success using X360CE with a Pinscape board?

Yes I have.
The error is caused by the x360ce.exe file.
The ini and dll are working fine.
But the exe file creates the ini file.
You can use an older version of the exe file, to generate the ini file and use the dll from the latest 3.x.
Thats working fine. Also version 4 can be used as program, but causing me issues with my frontend.

If you search on your error, you are not alone. There's even issues created for this on the x360ce site. If you have a working ini file, you can use this for all steam (pinball) apps.

Thank you so much for this info.

Do you know which version of the exe file I need to use and where I might find it?

I've found some version 2.0 files on Archive and am just replacing the .exe file and nothing more, but I'm still having the same problem, getting the same error.  If you could point me to a working version I'd really appreciate it as nothing from version 2.0 or 3.0 that I've tried is working.

Thanks again.

Ok, I searched and searched and finally figured out how to get rid of the error.

Now it's set up and when I open Pinball FX3 I hear the Windows "Ding" like it says I'm supposed to.

But the plunger still isn't working.

I went into the X360ce setup and clicked auto then clicked save.

On the main settings screen, in the two lower boxes (out of the 4 total) the numbers are rapidly changing between 0 and 1 and on the box to the right, that number is changing less often, but still changing.

I feel as though I'm close, but I must still be missing something.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Here is a picture.  Look at my mouse cursor for the box I'm referring to that keeps alternating between 1 and 0.

It keeps telling me I can't attach a JPG in this forum, but if you copy/paste the link you'll see the pic.

I finally "almost" got X360CE working with Pinball FX3 but when I pull the plunger all the way, it only releases the ball half way up the ramp and doesn't have enough force to launch it all the way.

I don't know which setting in X360CE to change to give it more power to fully launch the ball.

Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated.

In the picture (link below) it says Right Stick is Axis 3.  I actually had to change that to Inverted Axis 3 before it started half-way working, as described above.

I was unable to get DOFLinx to work at all and I was unable to get X360CE to shoot the ball all the way up the ramp so I decided to try JoyToKey and it is working.

The only thing is, with J2K and DOFLinx, even if BOTH were working, I believe X360CE is the only program that will allow skill shots to work and I feel as though I'm so close but don't know what else to try.

Still looking for suggestions if anyone has any ideas.

I'm pretty curious how you fixed it.
It must be somethign in the registry that is not populating correctly. Even with the code next to me, I wasn't able to find it.

I did exactly what you said and found an older version and that seemed to work.

The problem is, the ball only shoots half way up the ramp with my settings.

I got it to work with JoyToKey by setting the right stick right axis to the enter button, so it's working now, but I'd rather it work with X360CE.  In X360CE I set the right stick to Inverted axis 3 but am now thinking maybe that's the wrong setting?  I don't know why it's only launching half way with X360CE and ran out of things to try.

I was also unable to get DOFLinx to work and @DDH69 was unable to figure out why it didn't work, either.  All the settings seemed correct, the Joystick test worked fine, everything shows up in Windows now just fine, etc.

I suppose the JoyToKey option will suffice for now since it at least "works" but I can't do skill shots with it which is why I want X360CE to work.

Hi, jevansoh, facing same problem here and can't fix it :(

An error saying something like "System.NotSupportedException:.."

Could you help me please? Currently using x360ce 3.2.10.82 32bits at Pinball FX3 folder and KL25 Pinscape board (correctly calibrated in Pinscape config tool).

Thank you very much!
