When I launch VPX games they don't launch the VPX editor. This is how I like it. The VPT games open the VP 9.9.5 editor and launch the game.

It seems like it didn't do that a couple months ago.

 

I have opened regedit and found some folders named UltraDMD and Visual Pinball. There are settings, one says "display". 

Can one change or add a register setting which will make VP 9.9.5 launch a game without opening the editor?

they all open the editor
its just that vpx normal double click table file function is
open table file, Minimize, Play, Exit on entirely on table exit

so you never see the editor happen

 

I am not sure if vp9 does that?

 

you can try adding /minimize and /play and /exit args to your vp9 command line and see
