So I have pretty much everything working now on the updated 4k playfield except the dmd for FX3. So far, this is what I have tried:

1. loaded the latest version of dmdext

2. grabbed the settings in the b2s setup for the dmd and copied in the cabinet support screen in fX3

I can see the black box when I'm adjusting position/size but there is nothing displaying in it. The BG and PF are fine.

Suggestions please?

Try to not use dmdext, but the fx3-internal way of DMD position and use

that dn work already tried running fx3 outside pby and there was nothing in the box. just black. pretty sure you need dmdext for this to work at all via pby. I dn change anything aside from the playfield monitor so I'm at a loss with why the dmd stopped working.  anyone? this is driving me nuts!

NVM, I'm getting close. still trying to remember if I was using freezy dmdext for this or not. something tells me I was using the stock fx3. how the brain forgets in your 50s. lol

I'm not familiar with DMDText (or why you need it) but as far as Pinball-FX3 goes ... if you upgraded to a 4K playfield, remember that most of your Cabinet screen Coordinates will likely change. Also be sure that "Repositioning" is On for DMD and BackGlass.

Only other thing I can recommend is ... after you figure it out, try to document it in some way (even if it's just ScreenShots or phone pics). It only takes a little while extra, and I've gotten to where I document everything on these build-ups ... whether it's pinball, Kodi or whatever. Really comes in handy later.

Also, something like OneDrive helps to share stuff to your main-machine if you have no other way.

I forgot to backup my Steam folder before upgrading my main Pincab.  Can't remember how I got the backglass to display or more closely where to put the files.  Where do I place the backglass files for Pinball FX3?

Do I just put a jpg matching the table name in the steam/Pinball FX3/data/steam dir?  I have tried that but nothing is showing up.  DO I still need dofLinx for this to work?

Yes, that is all you need to do.

If this is a new install, you probably need to re-enter your Zen cabinet key-code.
