So, I understand that ROMS go into the roms folder within PinMAME.  I have put them there and left them in .zip format.

Now that I have the roms, I need to get the .vpt/.vpx files and place them into the Tables folder.  Here is where I get confused.

Do I:

1.  Place the .zip download into the Tables folder by itself?

2.  Open the .zip file, take out the .vpt/.vpx file(s), place into Tables folder.  Then take out the .mp3's and place them into Music folder?

3.  Create a new folder in the Tables folder,  with exact naming as .zip, and place all files into that?

I ask b/c some of these .zip files have .vpx, .vpt, .pov, .jpg, .mp3, etc.

It took me a while to figure out that Roms go into PinMame roms folder and that you then need .vpx or .vpt files in the Tables folder which is completely separate.

You might want to stick with VPX tables for now (VPT tables are older) Watch the first 5 mins of this video, some music files will need to be unpacked and the mp3s placed in the music folder, others may require an entire folder to go into the music folder but those instructions with come with the table and they will always need to be unzipped if zipped.

1: No. 2: yes. 3: no.

With 7-zip this is simple drag and drop, which I like so I can then backup the .zip files.
