Been struggling with this for years, have read and re-read many posts, and still am very confused.

3 monitor setup running Windows 7.

The order Windows assigned to my monitors was the following:

1: DMD (1280.1024)

2: Backglass (1920x1080)

3: Table (1920x1080)

In Control Panel, I have Monitor 2 as MAIN DISPLAY and the order set to ...

3 -- 2 -- 1

Using VPX 10.7, under the setting for "Video/Graphics Options" the "Display" is set to Display 1* 1920x1080

The "ScreenRes.txt" is set to monitor 3 for B2S.

All works fine from VPX, B2S tables, yet PUP and PinballY are all messed up.

And when I boot the box, I cringe since it sometimes flips things yet again.

Anyone have the "secret sauce" to make all these monitors work properly?

Do I really need to re-jigger the order assignment of each monitor at the Windows level and then re-do all of these settings?

It was working great for a year or so, but tonight I decided to hook an HDMI splitter to monitor 3 and duplicate the HDMI signal (for my table) using identical monitors. That's when things went south on me!

That said it feels so close ....

This is what I have for ScreenRes.txt -- works great for B2S but fails for PUP

Ok all set.

Turns out I slide the monitors around a bit (keeping above ScreenRes.txt)

      2       -            3            -     1

(TABLE) - (BACKGLASS) - (DMD)

Confirmed VPX worked with normal B2S tables.

Then to fix ...

PUP -- re-configured the displays using the "PinUpPlayerConfigDisplays.bat" tool, but couldn't use the quick display action as this didn't work, instead just drag and drop each one (BACKGLASS in this case) into their respective monitors and click SAVE. All fixed!

PINBALLY -- installed newer version (was running old 1.0 beta 22) now am running 1.1.0 beta 6 and it properly saves the Backglass screen on PinballY restart after I manually dragged/dropped into the proper position. All Fixed!

Agreed, following the specs of each line in this file as outlined here I would agree.

But it seems to work. I will try it with the changes you show above, and see how it impacts the screens.

Thanks!

If you want to see the actual changes

1) Dont make the changes yet
2) dont have PUP display a generic DMD image for tables with no PUP pack, in fact, leave PUP alone, launch table from VPX and dont add a PUP pack to it
3) Go grab a table with a 3 screen backglass, like tom and jerry or bugs bunny birthday ball or Apollo 13
4) fire up said table and notice that the DMD is not displaying something

Notice neither backglass displays a grill at all, and the score is not on the backglass in either?

See where part of Apollo 13's backglass is?
it is down in the DMD screen(with the Freezy DMD sized and centered on top of it of course)

Now go make the changes and repeat and you will get like the above screen shots

I know PUP/Popper can draw stuff there if nothing else has anything to draw
but if the DirectB2S backglass sees no info for a DMD screen, and it has 3rd screen parts, it will simply continue to put them on the backglass as if its a 2 screen setup
which defeats the whole purpose of having a 3 screen backglass to replicate the machine accurately

I'll post exactly what I did with that exact same layout; thanks to wiesshund for the registry info and help on mine!

I booted up with my playfield connected and no other monitors, then ran the following as admin via a batch script:

reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration" /F
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Connectivity" /F
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\ScaleFactors" /F

I then rebooted and Windows had only my playfield registered.  Then I plugged in my backglass display and let Windows set it up, finally plugged in my DMD monitor and let Windows set that up.

For scaling on the 1280x390 DMD, I set a custom resolution of 1280x390@60Hz (wasn't detected properly) and the set scaling to 'stretch to fit' rather than the default of 'maintain aspect ratio'.

My screenres.txt is as follows, and works for everything, including 3 screen B2S files with a custom DMD setup.

Please note: Line 5 on mine is '2' with no offset, but it appears as though most people have a '1' there and then the next two numbers are the offset from their playfield.  In any case, everything works exactly as expected on my setup, as well as scaling older B2S files more closely to a 4:3 aspect ratio; as close as it takes to not bother me and look all stretched out.  I also have my DMD shrunk down a bit on my display as the DMD screen is inset in 3/4 inch thick plywood and filling the whole screen does not allow you to see everything unless you are directly in front of the display.
