Yes, unfortunately the MAME dev team have not really pursued functional support for mechanicals as PinMAME has
There are also Pin ROMS that MAME does not have 100% accurate info for and PinMAME does.

I am not even sure if MAME can interface with anything to attempt to do anything useful with the Pin ROM's?

I do wish that PinMAME32 or VpinMAME could do a display output like that
it could be useful

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

All MAME game triggers can be accessed via DOFLinx and drive any toy.  In addition DOFLinx can drive toys from game scores for those games without ROM based triggers.

Someone would have to build some kind of VP into Official MAME in order to play the tables. Problem is that nobody isn't gonna do it from the MAMEDev Team.

The way they are doing is to make the roms work. That is it. No table to play.

PinMAME would have to be rewritten anyway for that to work. Not only that. Merge to Official MAME.

Yes that is all true. The only purpose in MAME is to get the roms working, and the sound. The LED or DMD display is only to assist with the development. Some tables have mechanical sounds added, such as chimes, knocker and outhole samples.

Most working tables have inputs and outputs connected. Inputs use a switch matrix, while outputs (lamps, solenoids) connect in a simple on/off arrangement that is not compatible with PinMAME. So, if the table has 16 solenoids and 64 lamps (80 total), generally outputs are available as out0 through to out79. It's up to the user fanbase (if such a thing exists) to develop visual elements and connect the outputs up. From what I can see, nobody in userworld cares. I assume everyone is happy to use the existing VP setup.

The reason for the incompatibility is because the licenses for the 2 projects are incompatible - nice ideas just cannot be swapped around, no standards can be used. I believe the PinMAME devs were going to look into resolving the issue, but nothing seems to have happened. I'm not blaming them for anything though - perhaps they don't have time, or they are happy the way it is. I do not know.

can they add the fake PF that pinmame does have for some games?

Now what about mechanicals needed to get past some start errors?

Mame does have mechanical slots in it.
