Hello,

anyone get managed to produce the 'wind' sound with Gottlieb Blackhole when the ball enters the lower playfield?

In pinmame 'manual command mode' for sound when entering #22(16h) nothing happens, so I wonder if any pinball

table based on pinmame is able to produce that sound or if it is a general (known?) bug in pinmame?

Background: I'm working on some bugs with my Gottlieb replacement Soundboard https://lisy.dev/gosof.html

and I have the same problem there: no sound#22 is produced. I know that similar behaviour was with Pink Panther

where the Gottlieb code used some undocumented 6502 opcodes which running different on real hardware compared to an emulation.

thanks for your help

Ralf

That sound should be back now with PinMAME 3.5.

It is - interestingly enough - produced by the Votrax speech chip which pronounces the 'S' phoneme steadily at very low frequencies.

It probably sounds nothing like the original right now as the new Votrax emulation will still need some work, but it's a start at least. :)
