File Name: Special Force (Bally 1986)_Bigus(MOD)

File Submitter: bigus1

File Submitted: 06 Jan 2022

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): Bigus1, dboyrecords, Tab, Destruk
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1986
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

New to VPX and first to work properly, this table is from dboyrecords, Tab and Destruk.
It's great fun with plenty to do, a bit of suspense and it has crickets!
The playfield is built from dozens of images and the bowl ramp is a first attempt but works well.
I fixed a flaw with earlier versions that prevented multiball working correctly.
100 lines less script than the Blank table. CTRL keys to enter initials.
2.0 has a new backboard, sound and glassier ramps.
Enjoy :)

wow it was one of the tables in my beginning, where i wanted to fix something - esp. the wood area with the Ramps ... on the old VP9 or 8 Versions (see dboyrecords Descriptions) ...

it is ok now ? ... :) if so, thanks :) ... looks nice, where's my Cab ...

Thanks for the nice table.
The upper drop target (collect bonus) does not work; it seems to be out of thin air.

The target blocks a tunnel entrance. Shoot into the tunnel to collect bonus and capture hostage (lock ball)

Thanks STAT for contributing to the table. I hope you like this version :)

I actually had a game where the target stopped and the ball went straight through it. However, everything now seems to be ok. The error could not be reproduced.

Great, another old vp8/9 table converted, it plays nice. Thanks Bigus :otvclap:

Sounds should be moved from backglass to table for cabinet/ssf users

Great job, Bigus!  I can provide some tips about how the ball flows in the real game etc.  and maybe even some resources if you have specific needs.

One thing that should be adjusted is that currently, a fully plunged ball always hits the skill shot (which is that middle ramp).  That middle ramp should be challenging to get, requiring a careful half-plunge or so.  A fully plunged ball should travel along the back raised channel and drop into the village (as the ball does when you hit the right ramp).

Thanks for the Update

There should be some Options to change the LED Text to German - if someone have the Knowledge to check that, it would be fine :)
I read the Manual from IPDB but it isn't clear for me, how to do that ... ( ok didn't test over Service Buttons )

Big-O.  I don't usually have much faith in vp8/9 repos, but I kept seeing this thread at the top of the unread section so I took a gander and gatdahm you really made this shine.  So-much-so, that it's going on my cab.  I had a smile the whole time playing this on my DT.  This table might be a <1000$ table IRL, but it really embraces the period and pizazz Bally was putting out.  I'm smiling as I write this, but you really do feel like you're in a fucking jungle full of gunfire.

I must say Bigus. Really appreciate you releasing this. I had wondered when this would be on vpx. Nice job.
