First and most importantly
I DID NOT MAKE THIS TABLE
 
Starman did, in 2013, for VP9.
 
I have changed very little, in my opinion.
Only what was needed to have it be a viable VPX table and have it work with the present B2S server
So i dont really consider this a finished table, but it is up and running enough for someone to do a makeover
or a total revamp
 
It you just want to play it, it does work fine for that too.
It fully supports 4 players, and there is a 4 player directB2S backglass with the table
 
I tried to remove none of the original code, even deprecated stuff
If it harmed nothing (some of the functions simply do nothing any more) i left it be
If it was harmful, i commended it out
I only modified what was required.
 
So, if you want to just play it, thats fine.
If you want an art project, works for that too
Or you can use it as a head start for a full on rebuild
 
Table uses all of Staman's art except the bumper caps, had to redo those as 1 dimensional caps dont do well in VPX
I changed and/or added some lighting as VPX does not use bumpers as lightbulbs
 
I swapped some sounds with 44k mono sounds for better SSF support
 
I did update the table to JP's physics, since i had to do materials anyway.
 
I changed out the kind of ballshadow used as the old way does not work so well for VPX, does not look right
but i left the original flipper shadows
 
I modified or added to the table script as needed to support the modern b2s server and a directb2s backglass
and to work with the present VPX scripts
 
this is an EM, no ROM needed
 
Completed Desktop mode backdrop
Table now supports 4 player in Desktop and Cabinet mode
And had a B2S Backglass
 
Added DOF commands, based on the default events list (NO not every event is used)

I am very enthusiastic. Only the wrong highscore display in desktop mode caused me to take action. :)

I just edited the existing highscore reels and rearranged them. Here the result:

Im kind of hoping that maybe someone will take the table and have a go at redoing the art and what not

but at  least it is a functional table to work on

 

I tried to make a set of reels for the desktop view, but they looked terrible.
Art is not my forte

I have a backlog of a lot of tables, but I see more tables that requires 10.7.
Normally I'm a huge fan of beta's and do user testing, but since 10.7 started last year, a lot of bugs (or unwanted behaviour in tables are reported).
Is this solved now ? With other words, can I (as user) use 10.7 beta for all my tables ?
Maybe a bit off-topic, sorry for that

I can only answer for me, but i am and have been running 10.7 for daily use

and for quite a while now

 

Have not had any bugs come up that rendered things unplayable

most pertain to the editing side of things

 

You can run 10.7 with out giving up 10.6
just unzip 10.7 to a temp folder, rename VpinballX.exe to VpinballX Beta 10.7.exe
then copy contents of 10.7 folder over your existing vpx install

you will have 10.6 and 10.7 as well as you will have all the updated scripts etc

What makover ?

 

This table is super clean, and really nice, in my opinion !

 well, initially i just mechanically converted the table over to run in vpx, cause it kept popping up in wish lists, so that someone else could update the rest

and then i wound up doing a B2S cause you cant really use UVP any more

then i wound up updating some of the table structures to kind of move things along.

and got various complaints about the unfinished aspect (mind you the table was uploaded as a starting point for someone wishing to rebuild it)

so i finished the desktop mode and a few other things

 

And i still have a list of pm complaints that the graphics are not good on 4k etc
which they may well not be as it is using the original vp9 graphic images

 

but i did put in the description that this was intended to give someone a starting point for redoing this table in VPX

But there is one problem when it's counting points the chime unit does not Pulsate it pulls solenoid in until it's done counting points
It should pulsate as its counting

Can you tell me what you did different than what i had done?

Not having DOF hardware, i kind of have to stab at it blindly
And i dont have my copy here to run a diff

 

odd the chimes do not pulse, i see you have 2 in your script which should pulse it rather than hold it
does the table maybe need a DOF config with a very short duration set for the chimes pulse?

 

Sorry i have no way to test it :(

I just noticed out of the 2 games in the download 1 requires 10.7 is that the only one you worked on
If that is the case then I worked on the wrong game

-
And will work on the right one tomorrow

 

I down versioned 1.1.0 so people could run it in 10.6
i forgot to edit the header
I fixed that now

The 1st upload did only run in 10.7

 

which did you edit?
the 1.1.0 or the original upload?

No, 1.1.0 i got rid of needing 10.7, figured it would be more useful to people for now incase someone wants to work on it or what not

I also completed a desktop mode backbox with score reels etc
I added DOF events

I think one minor thing to the b2s backglass
and some minor artwork, mostly for the desktop backdrop.

You make it so chime sound could be disabled if a person has physical chimes

 

Knocker i am confused though?
you changed it to one of the back bumpers instead of the knocker? from 111 to 107
is that where everyone runs their knocker at?

Without the hardware i kind of have no idea

 

Interesting take on the credits knocker

I thought perhaps it would be too annoying on every credit, so i had set it to only knock in a Hey stop feeding me, i am full kind of message.
But that's one of those things you probably can not know when you dont have a knocker (like me)

 

On the target resets, i am kind of lost

I see that you changed it from the front bumpers, which the table does not have, so i figured ok, those wont be getting used for other things, plus seemed physically kind of relative to the location the actuator is in, to the rear bumper solenoid
from 109 center to 106 rear center

 

the SFX part i get

 

And the bumpers, you moved to the slingshots and one of the front bumpers.
Which would seem to be wrong physically, but again, i dont have the hardware, maybe it does not matter?
Maybe trying to go by what the table physically looks like has no bearing and is pointless?

I did the DOF based on my using Conehead as a guinea pig with his Zebsboard DOF kit

 

Looks like i at least got the chimes in the right places?

so what I'll do is go back through and use the list you posted above for the DOF
This time I will update the 10.7 Table

so what I'll do is go back through and use the list you posted above for the DOF
This time I will update the 10.7 Table

the 10.7 table would be the old one
the zip labeled 1.1.0 is the newer one, i just backported it i guess you might say, so that it would run in 10.6

 

What is a Charm unit?

Does DOF have no generic config that you can point at an unknown table?
I can not remember how we had coneheads machine run heavy metal, maybe we made a config
Well he really, not we as it was all done through the forum messages, so i wasnt there.

wiesshund can this table be played on desktop without B2S? Every time I try to play I get an error on line 27  "Active X Component Can't Create Object 'B2S.Server' If I disable that line I get numerous "controller' errors.

Best I can tell Sometimes these are common after that it can be whatever

you can play it with b2s disabled in dof nudge prefs
you can play it with the directb2s file totally gone

it works error free

 

But in your case it seems as if you have b2s server unregistered entirely?

that probably will not work and you cant just comment out line 27 because then the rest is going to fall like dominoes

I suppose you could try making 3 fast chime timers and do dof chime, on, for the event then enable timer then have timer do dof chime, off : me.enabled=0 ?
