(Skip this paragraph if you don't care about the backstory)

Purchased a mini virtual pinball from a local guy.  Works well but I noticed some games have sound issues.  One of my favorites, Bad Cats, would repeat "Sea Food" over and over.   Another game with sound issues is Black Knight.   There may be others but those are the two I noticed.  I found 2 threads on here with similar issues but neither had a solution.   I stumbled on the 'fix' that worked for me on accident.

To troubleshoot I ran Visual Pinball (Not using Pinball X as normal) and the problem still existed.  Then I realized the guy had multiple versions installed (8, 992, 921, X) so I tried another version but when I tried to play, the keys weren't mapped correctly but I could play with the keyboard and the sound issue was gone.  So I mapped the keys to match 921 and then the problem came back.    I set all key mapping to (none), mapped one at a time and tested the game.  Finally, after mapping the Enter to F11, I found the problem and confirmed that fixed the issue for both Bad Cats and Black Knight.

Problem:  Bad Cats plays fine but keeps repeating "Sea Food", Black Knight plays well but has a similar issue with repeating sound.

Where Exists:  Visual Pinball 992 and 921 were tested and both have the same issue (see config below>

Fix: (I wouldn't believe that remapping keys would fix a sound issue, but I've done it multiple times and it fixed my issue)

Open Visual Pinball.   Then, open your table.  Select PREFERENCES, then Select KEYS.   This will take you to where you can remap your keys to another input or gamepad.   Look on the left side for "Enter (0)"    If that is mapped to something, change it to "(none)".     That fixed the issue for me.

Thank you, 2+ years later! There's zero chance I would have figured this out on my own. Sanity remains intact, for now.

I'm about 90% done with my first cabinet build, a Williams Cyclone replica, finally got it playable today...and imagine my dismay when Cyclone was practically making my ears bleed because I assigned a button to "Enter" haha!
