I built my cabinet a couple years ago, but just now trying to add VPX tables. I always had different issues with VPX, but now that I am more familiar I am ready :) I noticed that the ball speeds up as it drops on the several tables I started with. I thought it was caused from my nudge sensor which is a KL25Z board inside the cab. I disabled the nudge settings and the tables still seem to do it. Is this an inclination setting or something with physics? I guess I should disconnect the KL25Z all together and make sure, but looking for ideas. Thank you for any help, I love this community!

not exactly sure what you mean?

A ball should speed up as it rolls down the table, up to a given realistic maximum velocity for the table type and incline

Some tables do better than others at making that happen.

Great question man !! If you look at some of the older EM tables, the pitch/angle of the table is much more flat than a modern Stern Table, as such, the ball seems to roll around a little more slowly. So in VP I've assumed the slower speed is either related to the table angle (inclination?) and/or the applied physics constraints (gravity, weight and such) and both working together. Some game tables with slightly slower ball speeds in my opinion are Big Shot, Big Brave, Whoa Nellie, Captain Fantastic ... but that is how original tables were initially designed, right?

You can use JP's physics routine, with any table inclination
and control max ball velocity, and the ball mass

Inclination will dictate how fast it gets to that velocity

that and friction, though i would probably not go nuts on friction as it will affect more than just speed

It just seems awkward how it speeds up. None of my VP9 or Future Pinball tables do this. Also, I played the crap out of the real Bride of Pinbot for years and the ball does not move the way it does on the VPX table. I have alot of adjusting to do and will try a bunch of things, just wondering if anyone witness this and there was an obvious adjustment to start with. Appreciate it guys!

It depends wholly on the exact version of the table you are using.

Is a bad one fixable?
Oh hell yes

Is there a simple adjustment?
Oh hell no

You might rebuild every aspect of script ball handling
plus every aspect of table materials and physics settings to have it come out right.

And JP's physics kit is not designed as a
"DROP THIS IN AND DONE I AM PERFECT"

It is more of a Drop this in, and now you have a known proper starting point, now test and fine tune to arrive at the intended outcome.

And intended outcome will vary, depending on the author, and if the author has access to and intimate knowledge of the physics and handling
of the real life table, in pristine like new condition.

Hello.

"it's not a DROP THIS" but importing the physics of JP's in some tables, enhanced them a little :)

I like it and use the physics flippers and table values to enhance some tables that are terrible.

Terrible tables are better than no tables so it's not a real complain. :)

If you use only the table physics template, it is not going to work really well

the table will be over powered and the flippers like jack hammers, though i suppose on a really bad table, even a bad change is an improvement.

Weird, it seems a bit better after playing last night. I do get some lag on multi ball in Bride of Pinbot and White Water- great versions though, I may just need more memory for VPX, since they are more graphic intensive? This is a little off topic but I have several games (South Park VPX, Terminator 2, Big Bang Bar) that the VPX all say "check rom files"- when I check the scripts, I have the right ones and they are working in the VP9 versions of these cabs.
