Hi Everyone,

I am having an issue with my external DMD (PinDMD V3). During certain moments the dmd will stop displaying the proper video and instead shows the error in the picture here: https://imgur.com/a/hpFXOEc, then immediately reverts to the DMD default shown here:  https://imgur.com/oyMyxq5

When I play Medieval Madness it does this every time I get Merlin's Magic.

I have no idea why it is doing this. I haven't played my machine since about early December, but before I have never had this issue. If I turn off the color mods and revert to the standard single color dmd then it works fine.

I have no idea how to fix this issue. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

could be you have a bad color rom patch or something?
does it do it on all colored roms?

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

No, I think the rom is fine. I have been using it for months with no issues.

I just added in some color roms and am having the same issues. Did you ever figure out a solution for this?

I was having the same issue...is being caused by the brightness level you have it set at.

Solution that worked for me was running pinDMDconfig.exe & reducing the brightness level...it comes stocked @ 100% If you have never adjusted before.

Have mine set @ 60% & its still super bright(actually don't even notice the difference), but suggest you find the right level for your system with adjusting & testing.

You can find pinDMDconfig.exe  here:

Thank you so much for the tip! I'll try that in the morning and report back with my results.

Worked like a charm! One issue that I had with pindmdconfig.exe is that it kept coming up with a "pindmd.dll can not be located" issue. The exe file has to be placed in your visualpinball/XDMD folder, where the pindmd.dll file is located for it to work. Just in case somebody else runs into this issue. Thanks again for the suggestion, @ridlar
